According to the app's prompts, the ban reason was“A blockage based on the circular of the inter-ministerial joint meeting office of the State Council on combating new illegal and criminal activities in telecommunication networks.”
On October 15th, the Criminal Investigation Bureau of the Ministry of Public Security issued a notice to clarify the situation. It turned out that it was a special crackdown operation. It was organized by a department under the State Council to strike down on the rampant activities of the telecommunications network fraud crime in the Sino Burmese border area.
Since October 14th, QQ, WeChat, Alipay, POS and other accounts in the areas of serious telecom network fraud in northern Burmese have been closed down.
It is also mentioned that accounts that have been shut down by mistake due to technical reasons will be unblocked after a review. Users can contact the Ministry of public security in Yunnan Pu'er work station to request such.
