在口语或写作中，你有没有过：“词汇不够，very来凑”的经历呢？

这样说英语不仅显得词汇贫乏，而且离你真正想表达的总差那么一点距离。其实，在英文中有很多词可以代替very+简单形容词，今天我们就一起来学习这些词~你会发现，运用这些词立马让你的表达地道十倍！

• very angry —> furious 愤怒的

• very beautiful —> gorgeous 美丽动人的

• very rich —> wealthy 富有的

• very careful —> cautious 谨慎的

• very expensive —> costly 昂贵的

• very busy —> swamped  繁忙的

• Sb's swamped with something：XX在XX事上忙不过来

She's swamped with powerpoint for the presentation.

她忙着做做展示用的PPT。

• very clean—> spotless一尘不染的

现在我们来描述下下面的这张图。

（布里是一个美丽富有的家庭主妇，她在一个一尘不染的厨房里忙着做烘培。她生起气来，因为她不小心打破了一只昂贵的碗。）

如果是之前，我猜大家会这么来说：

Bree is a very beautiful and rich housewife. She is busy with baking in a very clean kitchen. She got very angry as she broke a very expensive bowl because of her carelessness.

对比：

Bree, a gorgous and wealthy housewife, was swamped with baking in a spotless kitchen. She got furious as she broke a costly bowl because of her incaution.

这样描述画面感, 语言的贴切感立马出来，英语好得连自己都不敢相信了！

• very small —> petite [pəˈtit] 小巧的

• very boring —> dull 乏味的

• very poor —> destitute['dɛstətʊt]  穷困的 

• very difficult —> arduous ['ɑrdʒuəs] 艰难的

• very bad —> awful 糟糕的

• very smart —> intelligent 聪明的

• very sad —> sorrowful 悲伤的

• very tall —> towering 高大的

• very little —> tiny 微小的

（站在高大宏伟的大厦面前，乔希觉得他很渺小。他是一个聪明的年轻人，可他却穷困潦倒，过着艰难而乏味的生活。）

Standing in front of a big and tall buiding, Josh feels himself very small. He is an very smart young man, but he's very poor and leads an very difficult and boring life.

Standing in front of a massive and towering building, Josh felt himself so petite.  He is an intelligent young man, but he's destitute and  leads an arduous and dull life.
