The Four Dharmas of Gampopa

དྭགས་པོ་ཆོས་བཞི།

1

願心向法

Give your spiritual grace so that my spirit may enter the Dharma.

བློ་ཆོས་སུ་འགྲོ་བར་བྱིན་གྱིས་བརླབས་ཏུ་གསོལ།

The mind turns away from attachment to this one existence. Reflecting on impermanence.

願法向道

Give your spiritual grace so that the Dharma becomes the way of awakening.

ཆོས་ལམ་དུ་འགྲོ་བར་བྱིན་གྱིས་བརླབས་ཏུ་གསོལ།

The mind turns away from the ordinary world. Reflecting on the causality and suffering of the world.

願法断惑

Grant your spiritual grace so that the way of awakening will dispel confusion.

ལམ་འཁྲུལ་པ་སེལ་བར་བྱིན་གྱིས་བརླབས་ཏུ་གསོལ།

The mind turns away from one's self interest. Reflecting on the virtues of compassion and bodhicitta.

願惑显智

Give your spiritual grace so that confusion may reveal wisdom.

འཁྲུལ་པ་ཡེ་ཤེས་སུ་འཆར་བར་བྱིན་གྱིས་བརླབས་ཏུ་གསོལ།

The mind turns away from the dualistic vision. Reflecting on the unrealality of what is perceived and what perceives.
