简介: The Biosensing, Nanomanufacturing, Nanomaterials (BN2) Lab in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) is looking for one outstanding and highly motivated Ph.D. student to join beginning fall 2018. Candidates in the areas of nano-optics (e.g. fluorescence and Raman detection), nanofabrication (e.g. top-down and bottom-up patterning), and biochemistry (e.g. PCR and immunoassay) will be considered. The successful candidates can be enrolled either in the doctorate program in engineering or the multidisciplinary doctorate degree in microsystems engineering. Students with external funding support (e.g. Chinese Government Scholarships) will be particularly welcomed. The selected candidates will have the opportunities to work on cutting-edge research projects in the fields of bioengineering and nanotechnology. We also keep close collaborations with the researchers in RIT, The University of Rochester, The University of California, Berkeley, and Brookhaven National Laboratory. This is to replace a current postdoctoral fellow who has successfully landed a professor position at a major research university. Our lab utilized the high-throughput technologies to dissect the molecular mechanism in complex diseases, especially in cancer, such as pseudogene (Han et al., Nature Communications, 2014), RNA editing (Han et al., Cancer Cell, 2015), Alternative polyadenylation (Xiang et al., Journal of National Cancer Institute, 2017), snoRNA (Gong et al., Cell Reports, 2017, cover story), and circadian clocks (Ye et al., Cell Systems, 2018). Our lab also developed databases (Gonget al., Nucleic Acid Research, 2016; Gong et al., Nucleic Acid Research, 2017; Xia et al., Briefings in Bioinformatics, 2015) and software (Feng et al., Briefings in Bioinformatics, 2017). Our lab is dedicated to translate genomics into therapeutics and diagnostics reinforce its potential for precision medicine. Located in the world largest medical center, our lab also worked closely with the world leading groups, such as labs at MD Anderson Cancer center, and published collaborative papers in leading journals, such as Cancer Cell, Nature Cell Biology, and Journal of Clinical Investigation. The positions will offer opportunities to work on exciting topics but not limited to:
Computational postdoc: The qualified candidates should be highly motivated in research and have strong experience in analyzing high-throughput omics data, such as genomics, proteomics, metabolomics, with strong skills in at least one programming language (Perl, Python, Java, C/C++, and/or R).
Experimental postdoc: The qualified candidates should be highly motivated in research with strong experience in Cancer Biology, RNA Biology, or related fields.

简介：The Department Physiology (http://www.augusta.edu/mcg/phy/) at The Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University invites applications for a full-time postdoctoral research scholar position. This position will be involved in conducting molecular, biochemical, physiological and genetic analyses using in vitro cellular and in vivo animal models, writing manuscripts for peer-reviewed publication, reports, and for presentation to academic and community audiences. The candidate will also gain experience in grantsmanship, as well as research design, planning, and execution.
Dr. Weiqin Chen’s research focuses on elucidating the biological mechanisms underlying adipose tissue development in obesity and lipodystrophy. She is also interested in understanding the metabolic diseases such as insulin resistance, diabetes, fatty liver and cardiometabolic diseases associated with adipose tissue excess (obesity) and deficiency (lipodystrophy).
Candidates must have a Ph.D. or equivalent doctorate in biomedical sciences. Applicants with a doctoral degree in another discipline may be considered if they possess adequate skills to conduct biomedical research. Preferred skills and experiences include animal genetics, molecular biology, cell signaling and metabolism. Prior experience in adipose tissue and metabolism is a plus. Candidates seeking their first postdoctoral position will be given top priority.

A postdoctoral position is available at in the Dept of Cell Biology to study the mechanisms of angiogenesis and vasculogenesis during development and vasoproliferative diseases. Candidate will work on the biochemistry, regulation and functions of extracellular matrix proteins by miRNAs. The studies involve the utilization of cell culture and genetically modified mice as well as animal models of ischemia and oxygen toxicity to study the mechanisms of vasoproliferation and vascular hyperpermeability. Technical approaches used include cell culture, real time PCR and western blotting, immunohistochemistry, viral expression, reporter gene expression, gene knockout, RNA-seq, Chip-seq, microarrays and public database mining. （编者注：急招，最好能很快就开始）

The Early Life Stress and Pediatric Anxiety Program (ELSPAP) at Stanford University researches ways to evaluate and treat children who experience traumatic stress. In the past 20 years, under the direction of Dr. Victor Carrion, the program has identified biological correlates of stress and developed treatment interventions to address gaps in current approaches.
Dr. Carrion is currently accepting applications for a postdoctoral fellow position focused on conducting research and treatment within a large randomized effectiveness trial in Sacramento, California. The trial is currently enrolling youth ages 7-18 to examine predictors of outcome across three evidence-based interventions for trauma. The goals of this study are threefold: 1) To provide gold-standard trauma-informed interventions for youth, 2) To begin understanding how treatment affects changes in underlying brain functioning, and 3) to ultimately determine which types of interventions will be most effective for families from diverse backgrounds and experiences.
We seek candidates with strong research and clinical backgrounds in child and adolescent mental health, particularly those with experience and training in evidence-based care for trauma- and stressor-related disorders. The successful candidate will develop a research program that contributes to, and complements, ongoing research studies within ELSPAP. The candidate will also have access to data being collected as part of the trial, data from other ongoing studies within ELSPAP, and receive training in two manualized interventions for trauma among youth. Candidates will also receive training in imaging techniques as part of their participation on the trial, and accrue clinical hours for licensure while serving as a study therapist. Duties will also include manuscript preparation, presentation of findings at conferences, and contribution to the preparation of grants.
