2018 TPH Investment Banking Summer Associate
Responsibilities
The primary objectives for Investment Banking Associates at Tudor, Pickering, Holt & Co. are to gain experience, judgment and maturity necessary to assume a leadership role in managing projects and in marketing the firm’s services effectively, while acting as carriers for the firm’s culture. Associates generally manage day-to-day activities of a given project, identifying tasks, scheduling priorities and taking responsibility for the finished product.
The purpose of the Summer Associate program is to provide students with a true investment banking experience, while testing the individual’s ability to handle a high stress environment, play a significant role in a number of time-sensitive projects, positively represent the firm and support the firm’s culture. As a Summer Associate, students can expect to gain exposure to difficult assignments with significant responsibility, play a role in written and oral presentations and perform considerable quantitative work.
Qualifications & Experience
TPH seeks first year MBA’s with strong analytical ability, excellent written and oral communication skills, intellectual curiosity, team orientation and project management capabilities, ability to maintain a positive attitude in stressful situations, and a strong sense of integrity. Finally, maintaining a collegial, dynamic, team-oriented culture is of the utmost importance at TPH. Therefore, Summer Associates will be judged on their ability to demonstrate these values during their internship. A significant portion of our full time Analyst and Associate classes come from our summer internships.
While a background in finance/accounting or energy industry is not required, you should be comfortable with numerical computation/analysis and have an attestable interest in working in energy financial services.
