23日下午，中共中央总书记、国家主席、中央军委主席习近平出席庆祝人民海军成立70周年海上阅兵活动。

General Secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, Chinese President and Central Military Commission Chairman Xi Jinping on Tuesday attended the multinational naval events in Qingdao marking the 70th anniversary of the founding of the Chinese People's Liberation Army Navy.

12时40分许，习近平来到青岛奥帆中心码头，检阅中国人民解放军海军仪仗队（honor guards of the PLA Navy）。

14时30分许，西宁舰抵达阅兵海域。习近平登上检阅台，下达检阅开始命令。

Xi boarded the destroyer Xining and gave an order to commence the naval parade on the sea off Qingdao at about 2:30 p.m. Tuesday.

12时40分许，习近平来到青岛奥帆中心码头，检阅中国人民解放军海军仪仗队，随后登上执行检阅任务的西宁舰。新华社记者 李刚 摄

中国人民解放军海军32艘舰艇、39架战机，分别编为6个群、10个梯队，依次接受检阅。

A total of 32 vessels of the People's Liberation Army Navy sailed in six groups, and 39 warplanes of the navy flew in ten echelons.

通过检阅舰时，受阅舰艇鸣起长哨、官兵整齐站坡，向习主席致敬。

The vessels whistled and officers and soldiers stood in a ceremonial formation, saluting Xi as they passed by.

“同志们好！”

"Salute to you, comrades," Xi called out to the officers and soldiers.

“主席好！”

"Hail to you, chairman," they replied.

“同志们辛苦了！”“为人民服务！”

Xi alternated the greeting with "Comrades, thanks for your hard work," to which the officers and soldiers replied "Serve the people."

习近平的亲切问候和官兵们的铿锵回答，汇成阵阵声浪，在海天间回响。

23日15时09分，习近平检阅受邀参加海上阅兵活动的13国海军18艘舰艇。

Xi reviewed 18 vessels from 13 countries invited to participate in the naval parade on Tuesday afternoon.

通过检阅舰时，各国舰艇执行各自传统礼仪表达敬意。

The foreign vessels in the waters off eastern China's coastal city of Qingdao saluted Xi, who was on board the destroyer Xining, in their traditional manners as they passed by.

检阅舰鸣笛还礼，习近平向受阅各国舰艇官兵挥手致意。

The destroyer Xining sounded its horn to return the salute, and Xi waved to the naval officers and soldiers aboard the vessels.
