WHO警告：疫情全球大流行的威胁“非常现实”，各国不能任由病毒摆布
“Now that the virus has a foothold in so many countries, the threat of a pandemic has become very real,” WHO Director-General Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus told reporters on a conference call from the organization’s Geneva headquarters Monday.
世卫组织总干事谭德塞9日在日内瓦总部召开的新闻发布会上称，“由于新冠病毒已经在众多国家发酵，全球大流行病的威胁已变得非常现实。”

"But it would be the first pandemic in history that could be controlled. The bottom line is: we are not at the mercy of this virus." he said.
“但这将是历史上第一个可以控制的大流行病。底线是，我们不能任由病毒摆布。”他说。

谭德塞称，中国上报的八万多例病例中，有七成已康复并出院，中国的疫情已经得到控制，这证明为扭转病毒发展趋势所做的努力永远都不会太晚。
Tedros emphasized that the great advantage in this scenario is that the decisions made by governments, businesses, communities, families and individuals can influence the trajectory of the epidemic.
谭德塞强调，在这种情况下，我们有一个优势，就是政府、企业、社区、家庭和个人所做的决定是可以影响疫情的发展轨迹的。
As evidence, he cited the fact that of the 80,000 cases reported in China, more than 70 percent have recovered and since been discharged. “China is bringing its epidemic under control,” he said.
一个例证就是中国上报的八万多例病例中，有七成已康复并出院。他说，“中国的疫情已经得到控制。”
"It's never too late to turn back the tide," said Tedros.

世卫组织紧急项目技术主管玛丽亚·范·科霍夫（Maria Van Kerkhove）此前曾在中国进行了为期2周的考察，她说：
"We can see the light at the end of the tunnel, absolutely," she said. "But how quickly we get there will depend on what countries do."
“我们已经能看见隧道出口的阳光了，毫无疑问。但多久能走出隧道，取决于各国的行动。”
谭德塞也称，积极防疫的国家不仅是在保护自己的国民，也在影响其他国家。
Tedros said that countries that continue to find and test COVID-19 cases and trace their contacts are not only protecting their own people, but can also affect what happens in other countries and globally.
谭德塞称那些继续寻找和检测新冠肺炎病例，并追踪密切接触者的国家，不仅是在保护自己的国民，也在影响着其他国家和全世界。
"The rule of the game is: Never give up," he said, adding that success can only be achieved with aggressive action as early as possible. "Half-hearted measures will leave the door ajar for the coronavirus."
“游戏规则就是：永不放弃。”谭德塞说，只有尽早采取积极行动，才能取得胜利。“不尽心尽力的举措只会让病毒乘虚而入。”
▌中国以外新冠肺炎确诊病例达到28674例
世卫组织每日疫情报告显示，截至欧洲中部时间9日10时（北京时间9日17时），中国以外新冠肺炎确诊病例较前一日增加3949例，达到28674例；死亡病例较前一日增加202例，达到686例。
全球范围内，新冠肺炎确诊病例比前一日增加3994例，达到109578例，死亡病例比前一日增加225例，为3809例。
A total of 109,578 confirmed cases of COVID-19 have been reported worldwide as of 10:00 CET Monday, an increase of 3,994 infections from the previous day, according to the daily report released by the WHO Monday evening.
Of the 3,994 new infections, 3,949 are outside China.
Among 28,674 confirmed cases outside China, 686 people have died of COVID-19, which marked an increase of 202 deaths compared to the previous day.
