立足“两个大局”，胸怀“国之大者”，面向全面建成社会主义现代化强国的第二个百年奋斗目标，浙江大学在全校范围内开展新发展阶段使命愿景大讨论。动员全校师生员工汲取历史智慧、明晰使命愿景、崇尚卓越追求、焕发精神动力，深入研讨浙江大学在新发展阶段的使命愿景，以及使命愿景在人才培养、科学研究、社会服务、文化传承创新等维度的具体体现，明确时代使命，强化责任担当，凝聚奋进力量，共创新的辉煌。

什么是使命愿景？
1. 大学使命是什么？
大学使命是大学之所以存在的理由与所追求的价值，是大学存在与否对于其利益关系人和社会的价值贡献，明确地揭示了大学存在的目的、大学的核心价值、大学的信念、大学的原则以及大学的自我定义。
立足新发展阶段，一流大学的使命必须与国家振兴和民族复兴相呼应。结合中国实际和世界一流大学的普遍规律，浙江大学使命的讨论应聚焦在培养时代新人、聚焦在支撑高水平自立自强、聚焦在引领世界科技变革、聚焦在参与文化传承创新和文明交流对话、聚焦在勇立高等教育改革开放潮头。
2. 大学愿景是什么？
大学愿景是组织中所有成员发自内心的共同意愿，是具体的能够激发组织成员为之奋斗的未来目标，描述了大学“向何处去”的景象。
对于浙江大学而言，愿景应当超越建成中国特色世界一流大学的具体目标。讨论应聚焦国家责任，在民族复兴中发挥引擎作用；聚焦区域贡献，在浙江“重要窗口”和共同富裕示范区建设中深耕发展；聚焦人民立场，在铸魂育人中彰显教育本质；聚焦人类关怀，在世界文明演进中成为先锋力量。
