Wonderful Moments in CCNU 2021 Sports Sessions!
Editor's Note
The 2021 Sports Sessions of CCNU were observed between Nov. 5th and 6th in Youming Stadium. It was an annual feast where various events from field sports to fun sports were organized, where athletes exemplify the spirit of higher, faster and stronger, and where all faculty and students gain happiness through participation and collaboration. Let's review the wonderful moments of this year's feast!
Day 1
On Nov. 5th, the opening ceremony of the Sports Sessions of CCNU was held and ten events were organized. Though it was a rainy and cloudy day, people gathered in the stadium with strong passion.
In fun sports sessions, teachers from different departments participated in the "Thunder Drum" and the "Land Dragon Boat" games, which were extremely exciting and joyful.
In the pull-up competition, the athletes had a strong will and determination to win honor for their schools. The sports fields became places for them to display their athletic talents and push beyond their limits.
For athletes participating in men's 1500 meters race, what supported them to compete in the game might be their friends' encouragements.
In women's 400 meters race, heavily as it rained, the athletes overcame the difficulty and ran in the rain, showing their quality of facing challenges bravely.
When the air gun was triggered, this athlete jumped to her feet like a shot arrow, having a strong desire to win this women's 100 meters race.
The slogan "East, West, CCNU is the best" demonstrated by international students attracted all eyes, and lit the atmosphere.
Day 2
On November 6th, the other four events were held, and the 2021 Sports Sessions of CCNU was rounded off.
Girls waited at the start line of the women's 800m race absorbedly
At the award ceremony, 8 schools, including schools of Mathematics and Statistisc, Chemistry, Physical Science and Technology, Foreign Languages, Economy, Education, Information Management, and Fine Arts won Sportsmanship Awards. Congratulations!

"This year, as every year, the sport has been fantastic. I think it is a good initiative of our school to organize sports sessions, since we foreign students have more opportunities to interact with Chinese students, make more friendships, get to know each other around. This is the second time I have participated in sports, I am very happy to participate because I love sports, and also because the same day is my birthday. Physical activities are the basis of any kind of sports, so for me sport is life, health, I can say. The sport encompasses many dimensions as practice, leisure and as an event. And an honor to participate in sporting activities."
Barry Ebrima
From School of Education
Barry participated in the men's 100m race. He enjoyed the race a lot, "I love sports and I have done some preparations for the race. Although I feel tired after the race, I feel good at the same time."
Husso Nigatu Deressa
From School of Politics and International Studies
"I was very lucky to get the first place in the group! I was not very nervous before the game because I prepared well. I practiced running for totally one month. When I saw my friends cheering me on from the stands, I was overwhelmed with excitement and gratitude!"

"This is my first time to participate in 4×100 meter relay, and I really enjoy it. Running is my usual training, and it can bring me relaxation and energy. Although this time we didn't get a good place, everyone stepped forward and ran as fast as they can. So it is a glorious failure. We will improve ourselves and strive to get a better place next time, making us and our friends proud!"
From November 5th to 6th, the 2021 Sports Sessions of CCNU was successfully held. We saw the vigor of every CCNUer, from whom the positive value and youthful spirit were embodied, making this year's sessions memorable days.
