CCNUers | My Best Memories of 2021(Gifts inside)

EPC CentralChinaNormalUniversity 2023-06-30

Editor's Note

Before the arrival of the New Year, we interviewed ten students in CCNU about their memorable moments in 2021 and best wishes for 2022. Let’s hear the exclusive memory and great expectations of them!

Feleisha Harris

from Antigua and Barbuda

This video clip shows my entire journey this year. It's like a year-end summary, recording all my fails and triumphs. Through these experiences, I've become more aware of the lesson that you can't be the main character in everyone's story, but you are the main character in your own life.

In the new year, I hope I can maintain my positive outlook on life, grow wiser and keep fit and have more chances to experience the world by traveling, enjoying delicacies and meeting new people.

This photo was taken on my way to the United Art Museum. At that time, I turned my camera to the bay window to capture the warm layout of the house. Then something wonderful and unexpected happened. The house and I were framed in the focus box together! What a big surprise that the lens brought to me.

This cozy and mysterious house might be "the house in my heart", which makes me realize that what you want may just drop into your lap without you awaring it. In 2022, I want to free myself from the undue self-restraint and let the sunshine in my "house".

This is a quatrain written by my grandpa. Since he passed away, I has repressed my grief all the time. Then one day I found a notebook he used for recording his thoughts about life when he was alive. Hardly could I contain my tears when I saw this quatrain. His yearning for a beautiful life still lingers in the words, making me miss him dreadfully. The quatrain also encourages me to enjoy, cherish and respect every living day. Definitely I will. Wish my dreams all come true and wish my loved ones all the best in 2022.

The story behind this photo is about my last appointment with my boyfriend this year. I wore a pair of cute new shoes for the date, but... Who knows the back of them rub!? So my boyfriend took me to buy a pair of slippers, and I had to took the subway in slippers. I wanted to make the dating perfect, whereas it turned out to be an awkward vignette. Yet it couldn’t have been more special for me.

Hope both of us will be joyful and healthy in the new year! Hope I can have more little happiness in my life!

Graduation ceremony

My fantastic photos are these I took on the day of the graduation ceremony. It’s my first time to participate in the graduation ceremony, and I was chosen as one of the valedictorians. Actually, many things happened during that period, and I faced a lot of challenges in thesis writing. But the support and encouragement from my teachers, family, and friends were always there, playing a significant role in completing my studies. I finally made it, becoming a better version of myself.

For 2022, I hope everything turns to normal without Covid-19 or any other disasters. We all live our life peacefully and happily!

College of Economics and Business Management

I am a freshman in CCNU. The photo was shot at the opening ceremony. I was excited at that time because the ceremony was so solemn and I considered it as a symbol of independence.

In 2022, I hope I can orient myself more quickly and get the primary accounting certificate. What's more, I plan to take part in a play in our club. The most important thing is to feel free and happy.

Vicky

from Wuhan

School of Information Management

This picture was taken on the day before the College Entrance Examination. When I packed up all my things and went home along the road that I had walked on for three years, I suddenly realized that my life as a high school student finally came to the end. Feeling a little bit melancholy at that time, I took this picture.

I have a lot of anticipation for 2022, which includes studying harder, participating in more activities, reading more books and travelling to more places. Then I may have a better understanding of the real society and the real me.

Cindy

from HongKong SAR

8

School of Urban and Environment Sciences

The first picture was shot in library. I was preparing for DSE, and it was tiring at that time. But for better grades, I pushed myself to persevere in my studies. In the second picture, I was attending the graduation ceremony with my best friends. Although it was sad that we were going to depart for different universities, we felt relaxed and gave our best wishes to each other.

I hope for a more colorful life in 2022. I want to meet more interesting people and learn to play a new musical instrument.

Jan Robert R Go (Rob)

from Philippines

9

School of Politics and International Studies

I think one of the best moments of 2021 is going to Enshi and serving as a volunteer teacher. The last time I taught in a classroom was in 2018, before I headed to Wuhan for my doctoral studies. The experience in Enshi gave me the feeling that I haven’t felt in a long time. I always cherish the opportunity that I can share my knowledge to the students and help to broaden their horizons.

I hope that by 2022, things will be much better. I look forward to more opportunities and challenges. The world is changing so fast. I wish 2022 will present positive changes for us all.

Ishova Dilber

from Turkmenistan

the College of International Cultural Exchange

As you can see in this picture, I won the competition called "China and Me, Five Years From Now". When seeing this competition notice, I was really eager to participate but I didn't expect whether I would win or not. I just wanted to express how I was lucky to study in China and share my experiences of learning Chinese language and culture! When I saw the winners list, I was truly overjoyed, for the judges chose me among the thousands of students and teachers, which made it one of the most unforgettable memories in 2021!

I have many expectations for 2022 and I have already made my plans. For example, I hope I can become a graduate student and continue my study. In the end, I wish the coming NEW YEAR could bring all of you lots of happiness and joy. Happy New 2022 Year!

"People observe the colors of a day only at its beginnings and ends, but to me it’s quite clear that a day merges through a multitude of shades and intonations with each passing moment."

Every day is brilliant and full of surprises. The days enshrined in memory will never be lost while the days in the future are always worth expecting.

We wish you a very happy New Year!
