Start of Spring: Hope Arrives Everywhere

Start of Spring, which falls on Feb. 4th this year, is the first solar term of the year. Not only does it lift the curtain of spring, but also it proclaims the rebirth of natural creatures and signifies new beginning of a lunar year.

After a snowy winter, the spring comes at last, marking a growing and blossoming season. With the day becoming longer and the temperature beginning to rise, trees are putting forth their buds and birds are coming back. For farmers, Start of Spring is extraordinary important because main ritual activities and celebrations for the coming new year are supposed to be arranged around it.

Spring promises endless hope and boundless vitality. There is a Chinese proverb that says "Make your whole year's plan in spring." It's advisable to leave the bad things behind and make new plans for the coming year. Additionally, as Start of Spring is in the changeover period, a variety of virus and bacteria also grow and reproduce. Hence, we'd better develop a healthy lifestyle such as washing hands often and opening windows for ventilation.
