Great Progress in Capture of Lead Ions over Certain Adsorbent
Editor's Note
Recently, Professor Yanbing Guo's research group in the College of Chemistry has made significant progress in the capture and removal of lead ions using an acetylenic bond-rich graphdiyne adsorbent. The research was published in the journal PNAS in 2023.
Lead (Pb) is a toxic heavy metal that can enter the human body through various exposure and accumulate over time, leading to serious health problems. The research group's work provides a new approach for developing efficient adsorbents for removing heavy metals from water, soil, and air.
