When Dali Eco House meets Dragons’ students

Sowing together the cots was really fun. I felt really good knowing that the effort we were putting in is going to benefit other people who go to Dali Eco House in order to learn more about how to help the environment. It was fun working along side Zero, an eco house volunteer and having him help us. It was an amazing experience and I hope that the cots end up being a big part of Dali Eco House experience. — Sara

My time at the Dali Eco House was an enlightening experience. It gave me a perspective of sustainability and a healthier lifestyle. It was super cool to see a building that volunteers built in the hopes of impacting the environment positively. Learning about the enzymes were super cool because I never knew that there was a natural invention that could make the water clean. When I looked around the eco house, I realized that every volunteer had contributed in a significant but simple way from the basket covers, to wall murals, to carpets. For my mini project, I chose to make a basket cover for the vegetable basket. I worked alone for this project and I realized that I loved to do art alone. Even though I couldn’t finish, I enjoyed the time by myself. In conclusion, at the eco house, I realized the importance of working towards a goal that you care about. Afterwards, I learned about the difference between a superficial attempt at helping the environment and whole heartedly trying to impact the environment. Lastly, I will implement more activities in my free time to discover my passions that can also improve my lifestyle. - Rusha

I really enjoyed making shades out of bamboo at Dali Eco House. We measured a window and then cut 30-40 sticks of approximately the same width to be the same length. We tied the sticks together with string, and it actually looked pretty good! It was a lot simpler than it looked and we made a pretty good finished product! Overall, this was a really great experience because we were able to create something beautiful while being eco friendly at the same time. — Amy
