WELL BODY | WellWomen Who Are Kicking Butt During The Pandemic
By Rebecca A and Hannah Northcott
Yes we were knocked down, but we got up again.
This pandemic season caused many of us to reassess our priorities - mostly our own self.
Are we truly taking care of ourselves? What do we need? Who do we want to become?
The Well Fitness community, led by WellWomen co-Founder Hannah Northcott, has been a shining light for many women who have been displaced across the globe unable to keep up with regular fitness routines or who lost focus and motivation under stress.
Here are just a few inspirational stories from several women in our community who are DREAMING of a better, healthier version of themselves during this time. These women BUILT a sustainable fitness programme from home, and consistently SHARE the ups and downs of their journey within our Well Fitness group.

I’ve always been sporty, health oriented and wanted to work out daily, but never found a good routine after I had my kids…That first day of the program l struggled - it hurt and I wanted to give up every 30 seconds. I’ve never done a group challenge before but the members of the group got me through it. After those first 21 days I had reached my goal. The results were awesome but the connection that I made in our WellFitness group was the best (and unanticipated) reward…The life style and mental results have changed me. I now have the mindset to exercise easily where ever I am.
I’ve now relocated back to my home country…this group helped me form a routine and mentally deal with the challenges of the re-migration and on top of that, the COVID19 crisis as well.
Hannah is a true positive force when it comes to inspiring the group members. Kind, vibrant and tirelessly giving her best. The most amazing accomplishment being that she as our leader drives all its members to support each other with help, advice, encouragement, listening and inspiration while always finding the right words to make the group a safe place for all to be at. Whether members are close in real life or online, Well Fitness feels like a like family.

Four months into the pandemic, during a Covid lockdown/quarantine, I decided to take control of my personal wellbeing. My fitness journey started with early morning 3-km walks, and when I joined the Wellwomen Fitness group, I’m very grateful that I’m not doing it alone! Through this community I discovered a workout program that suits me. I feel encouraged to persevere with my yoga practice so I can continue to post my sweaty selfies! As the saying goes, “there’s strength in numbers”. That’s the kind of boost I get from Well Fitness group. Just pure positive vibes going on here. Namaste!

I’ve been with WellWomen for over a year, and personally I have seen and experienced so much growth in myself, in how I approach exercise, and manage self-doubt, as well as managing my daily routines. On days that I would think that I am not able to get up and workout, I would just think about having to post a sweaty of myself working out, and that would motivate me, but there have been days when even a selfie wouldn’t do it, and being able to talk about it with these women and having them speak life into me really pushed me to be better and be consistent.
Being a mentor in the group has helped me to consider how wonderfully different we are, and seeing other women grow and choose to love themselves is a gift in itself. It has given me to confidence to reach out to other women and encourage them to work out.
Right now, I am at a point where I am so focused on my long term goals, and I’m also focused on helping another group of women in China, Zimbabwe, Zambia and some in America to have an internal awareness of their health and how important it is when coupled with meditation. Growing with these women has taught me a lot, and has really built up my confidence in areas of my life that needed it.

Hi! I’m Hannah. I’m a working expat mama of two girls. I co-founded WellWomen, teach Drama and devour chips dipped in mango salsa. Clothing auctions, Orchard brunches and warm tropical beaches are my jam. I love creating content, courses, and events that empower and inspire women and young people to live their best lives.
Our family is currently in Thailand. We came here in March and hope to return to Beijing soon. We live in Shunyi and meeting-up at the Roundabout with girlfriends is one of my favorite neighborhood activities.
