Oscar Tuazon’s work is situated at the border of art, architecture and technology. His large-scale works in the public space often seem like functional DIY structures which were once inhabited or will be made inhabitable soon, and smaller works seem like functional yet malposed architectural parts. Tuazon is much influenced by the masters of Minimalism and Land Art, such as Donald Judd or Carl Andre, and has "copied" works from them to rebuild and reduce the work to its sheer material. He focuses on the process of building something, and the physical characteristics of the materials. He considers a sculptural installation as being analogous to a house, as both are continuously built, repaired, and maintained.
