Liu Wei, born in Beijing, China, 1972, lives and works in Beijing.
Liu Wei's art creations often stem from his thoughts on order. The order, Liu attempts to present in his works, is what he thinks of art, and it is also what he believes to be the critical factor in a prosperous society. As shown in the Outcast, Liu archives churchlike and architectural grandness by using humble found materials. The grandness is the product of the order, the harmony of the colours, and the interrelation of the lines. With the order, beauty could be created. With the order, liberty, and happiness of a society could be archived.
