伊丽莎白·贝纳西将120块在烧制过程中变形的手工砖分组排列，向卡尔·安德烈1966年的作品《等效》致敬。《等效》是卡尔·安德烈的极简主义作品系列，艺术家制作了八组具有相同质量和体积的矩形阵列，每组均使用120件几乎完全相同的耐火砖排列而成，通过利用单一媒材呈现清晰的作品形状，安德烈提出雕塑不仅是存在和占据空间，更应该定义或解构其所在空间。而在贝纳西的《等效 II》则在此经典雕塑的数量和形式基础上，安排使用不规则形状和颜色的砖块素材，强调“错误”和生产缺陷的一面，挑战了安德烈作品中的原有规则。

Elisabetta Benassi’s Equivalenti II features a hundred-and-twenty handmade bricks misshapen during the firing process. This work, in an anti-minimalist sense, recovers Carl Andre’s idea from the iconic work Equivalent (1966). In the minimalist work Equivalent, the artist produced eight sets, each consisting of 120 nearly identical firebricks: By applying a single media exploiting a definite, repeated shape, the works of Andre intimate that sculpture not only occupies space but also, defines or deconstructs the space in which it resides. In Equivalenti II by Benassi, alluding to this classic sculpture in terms of number and form, the artist uses bricks of irregular shapes and colours, ironically highlighting the mistake, the error, and the defective side of production that turns out into a fascinating object.
