Lucas Blalock, born in North Carolina, United States, 1978, lives and works in New York.

卢卡斯·布拉洛克作为一名摄影师以他展现照片背后的处理加工而出名，他对照片的修图不是为了改善画面而是为了凸显修图痕迹。受剧作家贝尔托·布莱希特对于坚持展示幕后工作的剧场的理念影响，布拉洛克希望观众可以在他的摄影照片中察觉那些不完美的优雅。他的摄影作品往往都与完美相悖，而世上事物也大多如此。也许布拉洛克的粗糙的摄影才是写实的, 因为大部分事物在最好的情况下也如他的修图一般，只是试一试而已。

Lucas Blalock, as a photographer, is known for exposing the process behind photographic images, and thus, his use of photoshop is not intended to refine an image but to shed light on his edits. Inspired by the playwright Bertolt Brecht’s insistence on a theatre that reveals its labour, Blalock wants viewers to find the imperfect grace in his photos. His photographs are not “well done”; yet, most components in the world are less than perfect as well. Blalock’s awkward photos are realistic in the sense that things are often, at best, nice tries.
