How to Register Residency Without Leaving Your Home

According to Chinese law, foreign visitors staying more than 24 hours in China are required to register temporary residency within 24 hours of arrival.

Making the registration properly – this means providing true information and do it on time -- is crucial in your future application for visa. Failure of registration may incur you trouble.

But you don’t need to do that yourself if you are staying in a hotel, because the hotel will take care of it for you.

However, many visitors just don’t know how to register or not even knowing the requirements at all.

There are three options you can choose to complete registration, among which the third is the easiest and recommended if you have wechat app in your mobile phone.

A. Go to the nearest police station for it.

You may find it difficult to locate the police station. 

But Shenzhen Exit & Entry authority has been making great progress in raising the efficency, so you can: 

B. Register through 深圳公安 WeChat account, or official wechat account of Shenzhen Public Security in English. 

This is also easy if you can read Chinese.
