On May 7, Guangdong Provincial Department of Education issued a notice on postponing the start of summer vacation. This is done so with the aim of compensating for the time lost due to the delay in opening time for the schools. Basically, all grades in primary and middle schools shall begin the summer vacation not later than August 1.
5.7日广东省教育厅发布最新通知，因延迟开学耽误的教学时间，可采取适当延后暑期放假时间的方式补偿，原则上中小学各年级暑假开始时间不得晚于8月1日。
Weekend Classes may be arranged only for last year students of senior high schools by choosing only one day during the weekend, there is no need to arrange weekend classes for other grades.
中小学各年级法定节假日不调课。除高三年级周末可以安排1天调课外，其他年级周末不得调课。
Furthermore, as the schools started online classes since March 2, the time spent online will be categorized as the time spent on normal classes.
全省中小学校自3月2日开学并全面实施线上教育。线上教育是2020年春季学期正常教学的组成部分，线上教育时长可纳入正常教学时长范畴。
Lastly, following swift return to school of third grade students of Senior high and Junior high since April 27, now 20 cities in the province have announced the time for other grades to return to schools.
4月27日首批(高三初三)学生返校复课后，全省已有20个地市公布了中小学其它年级返校复课时间。
