Home Alone star Macaulay Culkin made internet users feel old last week when he revealed on twitter that he turned 40 last week. In case you don't know who he is, he starred in Christopher Columbus' film when he was only 10 years old and quickly rose to child star status.
Culkin played the plucky 8-year-old Kevin McCallister, who accidentally gets left at home while his family embarks on their Christmas vacation to Paris. Kevin must defend his home from two bumbling burglars.
Home Alone was a box office hit following its release in 1990, inspiring the creation of Home Alone 2, three more sequels not starring Culkin, and the upcoming Home Alone reboot.

Home Alone and Home Alone 2 are Culkin's most renowned credits. Culkin mostly opted to stay out of the spotlight after his breakout role, but he had roles in a few films here and there.
Things deteriorated for a while and at one point he was pictured in this state while struggling with alcohol and drug abuse.
But as expected, his fans' minds were blown. They commented laments of their youth and statements of pure shock. Some did enjoy the nostalgia trip of remembering younger days when they could be at peace watching 10-year-old Culkin act in Home Alone at the age he should always remain.
