Free vaccination now available for HK and Macao Compatriots

On April 6th, National Health Commission announced on its website procedures and requirements for compatriots from Hong Kong and Macao who work and live in the mainland to get vaccinated free of charge.
To get the free vaccine, they should present either their medical insurance certificate or residence permit issued by the public security bureau.
The vaccine will be offered on voluntary basis and the receiver should sign a consent form. The relevant protection policies are consistent with those of local residents.
The notice is as follows:
1. Compatriots from Hong Kong and Macao who work and live in the mainland can get vaccinated free of charge after presenting their residence permit for Hong Kong and Macao residents issued by the public security department or the mainland medical insurance certificate. All vaccinations must be on a voluntary basis and receiver must sign a consent form.
2. Students and teachers in the mainland will follow the same procedures as the locals in their relevant place of work and schools.
3. If experiencing adverse reaction after receiving the jabs, treatment and compensation will follow the same rules as the one applied to local residents.
4. For those who do not fit category 1 and 2, they are not covered by free vaccine program, but they can apply voluntarily for a paid vaccination.
