GZ Issues Preferential Treatment for Blood Donors and Volunteers

Staring May 1st, Guangzhou is giving preferential treatment packages to people who have volunteered to donate blood after they reach a certain number of times. Blood donors in the city are categorized as "A", "B", and "C", with "A" being the highest and people under this category can enjoy free transit on public buses, trams, ferries and rail.
Category A:
Category A covers volunteers who have donated whole blood (one pint) more than thirty times or have made donations of blood more than 40 times in total. It also covers volunteers who have worked at the blood donation center and services for more than three thousand hours.
Benefits:
People under category A will enjoy free use of public transportation as mentioned above as well as getting social security subsidies.
Other benefits include priority in getting jobs and medical treatment, they are also exempted from paying general outpatient consultation fees.

Category B:
This covers those who have donated whole blood more than 20 times or have donated more than 30 times in total, as well as volunteers who have worked at the blood donation centers and services for than 600 hours.
Benefits:
People under this category will enjoy free tours at parks, museums, and other government-run attractions. They are also given priority on medical treatment as well as be exempted from paying general outpatient consultation fees.
Category C:
This category covers those who have donated whole blood more than ten times or who have donated more than twenty times in total, volunteers who work at the blood donation center and services for more than 480 hours also fall under this category.

People under this category will enjoy free tours at parks, museums, and other government-run attractions.
So far, the number of blood donations and the duration of volunteering at the blood donation center and services is measured from the starting date until December 31, 2020. The city will also issue electronic certificates which can be accessed by a mobile phone.
