Doctor punished for lying after testing +ve for Covid-19

On December 10, the Commission for Discipline Inspection and Supervision of Manzhouli City, Inner Mongolia autonomous region investigated and punished a doctor who lied about his home address to epidemic prevention and control staff.
Liu Xiaodan, a doctor at Manzhouli People's Hospital, tested positive for COVID-19 on December 2. When epidemic prevention and control staff asked him about his home address and whereabouts within the 2 week period, he gave a false home address because he worried that his mother and son would be put into a list of close contacts.
As a result, members of a residential community that he does not live in were put into isolation for medical observation as his close contacts. His behaviour seriously interfered with the epidemic and prevention work in the city, resulting in major risks and hidden dangers of epidemic spread.
On December 10, 2021, Manzhouli Public Security Bureau filed a case against Liu Xiaodan and begin investigation against him. The supervision committee of Manzhouli Municipal Commission for Discipline Inspection also punished him and he was dismissed from the party.
