-Police received a report about a man surnamed Li beating his own wife on December 26.
-When they rushed to the scene to dissuade him, Li attacked them, saying beating his own wife was his right and shouted "the law is nothing."
-His parents joined him and attacked the police with stones, injuring three of them.
Police were responding to a report on domestic violence case in Nantong city, Jiangsu province, on December 26 when the perpetrator and his parents beat them up injuring three of them.
One of the police officers surnamed Su told reporters that at first they thought they would only criticize and educate Li, but who would have thought that even with the presence of the law enforcement officers, Li mentained a very stubborn stance.
After talking to Li's wife, they approached Li who immediately told them to mind their own business. He turned back and tried to continue abusing his wife in front of the police.
Police rushed to stop him and that is when Li turned his fists to the policemen and a fight broke out. They were caught off-guard since they didn't expect that someone will try to fight with the police.
No sooner, Li's parents also joined, not to pursuade their son to do the right thing, but to beat the police officers.
Stones and marble slabs were thrown at the police and the scene turned into a complete chaos. During the scuffle, Li's mother also hit and broke police's recording instrument.
At one point, Li shouted "Beating my wife is my right, the law is nothing."
The police finally controlled the situation and arrested Li and his parents.
Li and his mother has been put under criminal detention in accordance with the law while his father was released on bail.
