Netizens Shocked By Apple's 1K RMB Data Cable

It's an open secret that most of Apple products are overpriced, but have you ever thought that one day a data cable for an iPhone will cost upwards of 1,000 yuan? Well, welcome to 2022.
At the Apple March Event on 9th, the company unveiled some cool products such as iPhone SE 3, iPad Air 5, Mac Studio, Apple Studio Display with 5K resolution etc.
But netizens in China quickly found what they deemed an "IQ Tax" or "Straight Robbery."
And that is a three meter thunderbolt cable, branded Thunderbolt 4 Pro, that costs RMB 1,169.
Well, there is a cheaper alternative of course for those who can not shell out north of 1K, and that is a 1.8 meters thunderbolt cable which costs 949 RMB as shown on the image above.
Thunderbolt 4 technology helps bridge the gap between Apple's Lightning connector and the more common USB-C while introducing improvements such as better security, faster transfer speeds of at least 32Gbps, and support for dual 4K or single 8K monitors.
Since there are cheaper alternative in the market, the selling point of these cables though, is that they are not broken easily.
