The Shanghai Municipal health commission reported that more than 100,000 local covid infected cases have been reported in the recent outbreak in Shanghai. Military and healthcare workers were sent to Shanghai on Monday for all its residents to undergo COVID-19 testing.
According to local news, the entire city enters Covid lockdown. Due to the lockdown, all the Shanghai universities are closed and Students take their classes online.
Public transport and non-essential business are also closed.
The Associated Press says the lockdown will be the largest in China since Wuhan.
Due to the expansion of the Covid-19 issue, China is not looking to remove the Zero-Covid strategy.
International students have been anxious to return to China for over two years but the situation right now will not allow them to enter China.
Due to a lack of information International Students rising their voices on Twitter with the use of the hashtag #TakeStudentsBacktoChina against the Chinese authorities.
According to China international students’ union (CISU) survey, many students claimed that their mental and physical health has drained due to China’s travel ban. Students have not been able to gain practical experience.
During the pandemic, international students are taking their classes online due to this Students have not been able to gain practical experience. And also, the students experience less sleep due to the time difference between China and other countries.
We are still waiting for any news from Chinese authorities regarding international students but The Current situation of the country will not allow students to return to China in 2022.
