Sri-Lanka Students Returning to China

At last, the news came for Sri-Lanka students for their safe return to China. It’s really tremendous news for students. Students were stuck out of China due to COVID-19 since January 2020. They couldn’t return to China as the Corona Virus spread all over the world.
COVID affected the businesses and damaged and disturbed the education system globally. Students who stuck out of China were not able to join their classes physically. It really wasted their time because they couldn’t get practical command of theoretical knowledge.
Students from all over the world were waiting for border openings from China side. But China gives very important to its nation and also understands the educational loss of students.
But to make sure the safety of its citizens and foreigners including international students, China adopted the Zero-COVID policy. This policy proved better to overcome the pandemic situation.
Now more than 2 years have passed, and students are still stranded outside China. Now China is gradually calling students back to join universities and colleges physically.
Last month, China allowed Pakistan students back and a lot of Pakistani students secured visas. But Pakistani students are still facing problems regarding flight arrangements for their return.
Today on the 21st of April, it was released on the official website of “Embassy of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka” that the “Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China has informed that the Chinese Embassy in Colombo has finalized two (02) groups of students to return to China.
And Additional students are being processed to return to China. The Embassy will continue with its efforts to enable all students to return to their studies.” This news was released by “The Embassy of Sri Lanka, Beijing.
The Embassy didn’t say how many students were finalized in two groups. China Education Ministry says that more than 4,92,185 international students were studying in China until the end of 2018. South Korea is on 1st with more than 50 thousand students studying in China.
While Thailand and Pakistan are in 2nd number with more than 28 thousand students in China. So, to allow a massive number of students to return is challenging and tough.
China Really working hard to make sure the safe return of all students so that they can get a quality education while attending classes and Labs physically.
Some international students who are not on the list of returning students (Pakistan and Sri Lanka) are also worried because they are about to graduate within 1 and a half years. They say we are facing problems from the university administration.
Students say, we are trying very hard to work out for study in online mode and we also covered and passed our coursework except for one (01) major degree subject.
University says students can’t take the exam online because it’s a degree’s main course. So, it needs to appear in the exam physically, while on the other hand students say, in this pandemic situation either we should be allowed to China or university should take exams online so that we may complete our studies in time.
Well, a good result will come out after discussion.
Students believe that Soon China will open its border to students all over the world. And we wish best for the China.
