28-Year-Old Plunges to Death from a Quarantine Hotel

Xining PSB published a public notice about a 28-year-old woman, Ms. Wei, who fell to her death from a quarantine hotel room she was isolating in. The report dated April 23, said the victim was quarantining in a Yishang hotel, Shilipu town.
Police investigation revealed that Wei came back to Xining from a medium risk area on March 12 and was subjected to isolation for medical observation at the hotel.
On March 17, at about 19:00, she fell from the window of the hotel room she was isolating in. Staff at the hotel quickly rushed her to Xining Second People's Hospital for emergency rescue, but she died at about 2 a.m the next day.
Police informed her family as soon as possible but on March 25, her family doubted the cause of her death.
The officers restarted the investigation and completed it on April 22. The hotel's surveillance system was intact and they were able to collect all footable from the day she checked in til her death.
After reviewing the video, they didn't find any evidence of dispute between the victim and other people. Furthermore, her door had no signs of damages and was locked from inside, there were no evidence of someone breaking in.
But the room's window screen was torn and the window handle was broken, it was concluded that Wei fell after trying to climb down the window from the third floor of the hotel room. Police ruled out any possibility of homicide.
