春山雅聚第十四期，我们请到了首饰设计师Ejing Zhang。她向我们讲述了少女时期对艺术的热爱，告诉我们如何一步一步走出自己的道路，创造自己的天地。

At the 14th lecture of the Meeting Intellectuals in the Spring Hills Lecture Series, we have invited Jewelry Designer, Ejing Zhang to share her passion and love for art and show us how she created her own world of art.

谈起对艺术的热爱与追求，Ejing Zhang的脸上洋溢着幸福。小时候“算命神婆”说她今后会在艺术界大有造诣，冥冥之中的肯定指引她走上艺术之路，她的母亲也无条件支持她的艺术梦想，多年以来的不懈追求让她终于在这个领域有所成就。

Speaking of her love and pursuit for art since youth, Ejing Zhang's face was radiant with happiness. When she was a kid, a fortuneteller said she would make a great achievement in the world of art. This prophecy leads her to the artistic journey. With permanent pursuit and full support by her mother, Ejing finally made her mark in the artistic field.

高中毕业之后，Ejing Zhang前往英国开启自己的艺术之路。她热衷手工，“make something from scratch”是她制作手工艺品的理念。在此过程中，探索并开创了自己的设计风格，从不亦步亦趋，而是回归故乡江南，寻求本真；她清楚自己今后要走的路，不是在竞争激烈的时尚行业打拼，不是从事单调的数字设计，而是亲手制作有质感有风格的艺术作品。在这个想法的指引下，她成立了属于自己的品牌。

After graduating from high school, Ejing Zhang went to the UK and stepped on the way of art. She enjoyed making handicrafts, holding a principle of "make something from scratch". She developed her own design style rather than following others’ ideas. Returning to the birthplace and finding the root, her works was endowed a unique nature. She knows her way well—not the competitive fashion industry, not the monotonous digital design, but the handicrafts with an attitude. Sticking to this idea, Ejing set up her own brand.

一处风景，一段书中的话，一件经典的艺术作品，或是伦敦阴雨绵绵的天气，都能赋予她源源不断的灵感。

A landscape, An excerpt from a book. A masterwork done by previous artists. The rainy weather in London, the city she lived in. All these images provided her with endless inspiration.

亲手刺绣，指下生花，是她对待作品的细腻；在木工房挥汗切割原材料，是她在异国求索的姿态；从伦敦到家乡无锡，横跨大洋只为向竹编师傅学习传统技艺，是她对美感的追求。

Her attitude toward design is shown in every hand-embroidered flower. Her effort and diligence is hidden in every drop of sweat. Flying from London to Wuxi, just for learning traditional bamboo-weaving skills from an expert, her pursuit for aesthetics is revealed by her persistence.

简介

Ejing Zhang 张嫕婧，混合合面料设计师。2013年毕业于英国皇家艺术学院研究生学位，被Wallpaper杂志评为当年最优秀的毕业生之一，曾在Ralph Lauren和Alexander McQueen的品牌设计部学习，被伦敦百货公司Liberty邀请担任2013年秋冬系列的颜色顾问。

2014年底在伦敦成立个人工作室，主攻以开发物料为主的首饰设计，拥有个人品牌Ejing Zhang。品牌常被Vogue, Elle Decoration等知名杂志报道。

设计师张嫕婧自小在江南长大，赴欧洲求学的经历让她的作品风格带有耳目一新的东方艺术，对色彩的敏锐感让她的创作独树一帜。

Ejing Zhang, a mixed fabric designer, graduated with a master's degree from Royal College of Art in 2013. Wallpaper magazine named her one of the best graduates of the year. She once worked and studied at the designing department of Ralph Lauren and Alexander McQueen. She had also been invited by the Liberty, a London department store, to be the colour consultant for the 2013 autumn/winter collection.

At the end of 2014, she set up her own studio in London, focusing on jewellery design featuring materials development, and owned her own brand “Ejing Zhang”. Her brand has been frequently reported on well-known magazines such as Vogue and Elle Decoration.

Ejing Zhang was brought up in the Jiangnan region in China. The experience of studying in Europe granted her works with a refreshing oriental art. Her sense in colour allowed her to have a unique creation of her own.

春山雅聚是校级系列讲座活动之一，大学将邀请文化艺术等领域有影响力的文人雅士，通过沙龙、讲座等多元化形式，在校园里与学生们进行思想交流，从而产生心灵碰撞。在这里，每个人都可以自由地倾听和表达对世界的看法、对生活的追求，感受到不同个体之间各具特色的人生品味。

“Meeting Intellectuals in the Spring Hills” is one of the University's lecture series where the University will invite social elites in such fields as culture and arts to share with our students in form of salon or lecture to promote a discussion of thought-provoking issues or soul-searching experiences. During the lectures, everyone will have a chance to listen and respond on their world views, their aspirations, and intellectual taste in life.
