Use one pen and an inkstone. Freely write and splash ink. Mr. Cao Yingwang will lead you to experience the creation of traditional painting and calligraphy, explore the beauty of the spirit and the artistic conception of painting and calligraphy, and stimulate your aesthetic interest and creativity of traditional Chinese art.

穿越中国书画史，欣赏名家作品。操应旺先生将与大家一起回到几百年前的中国书画世界，欣赏古代书画名家顾恺之、张择端、扬州八怪等人的作品，领略中国十大名画如《洛神赋图》、《女史箴图》、《千里江山图》等背后的历史奇观。大家还可以现场体验书画技法，沉浸在雅趣的世界。
Travel through the history of Chinese painting and calligraphy and appreciate the works of calligraphists and painters. Mr. Cao Yingwang will lead you back to the world of Chinese calligraphy and painting hundreds of years ago, appreciate the works of ancient calligraphists and painters such as Gu Kaizhi, Zhang Zeduan, the Eight Eccentric Artists of Yangzhou, and have a taste of the spectacles behind the top ten famous Chinese paintings such as "Nymph of the Luo River", "The Admonitions of the Instructress to the Court Ladies", "A Thousand Miles of Rivers and Mountains" and so on. You can also learn techniques on site and immerse yourself in the elegant world.

How to create a work of painting and calligraphy? Mr. Cao Yingwang will guide you to learn the language of traditional painting and calligraphy, use the writing brush, ink stick, paper and inkstone to express your interest and charm in life, and create your own artworks.

Artist Clinic
● 艺术家操应旺先生为学生提供面对面交流时间，为学生答疑解惑，预约的“问诊者”可以和操应旺先生互动与沟通，也有机会参与书画创作。
Mr. Cao Yingwang will provide face-to-face communication time for students, and the “patient” who has made an appointment can chat with Mr. Cao and have the opportunity to participate in the creation of calligraphy and painting.

二、第23期驻校艺术家排期表
Schedule of the 23rd Artist-in-Residence Programme
驻校艺术家项目
为营造大学艺术氛围，培养同学审美情操，从2016年开始，大学推出驻校艺术家项目，定期从全球各地及各艺术领域遴选邀请国际化水准的专业艺术家进驻校园，从事创作并与同学交流。驻校艺术家创作周期分为两种：短期5-10天，长期1-2个月。驻校期间，艺术家会与同学们共同创作，或以讲座、工作坊的形式指导学生创作与审美。艺术家的创造也会结合校园周边资源，为校园的发展提供创新的尝试。
In 2016, the University initiated the Artist-in-Residence Programme to create an artistic atmosphere on campus and to elevate student's aesthetic taste. We regularly invite top artists from various fields to reside on campus, create artworks and hold workshops with students. The programme may last 5-10 days or 1-2 months. Artists will work with or guide students to create or appreciate artworks through workshops or lectures. Artists will also take into account resources available off campus to contribute towards our development.
