Then I had an idea to listen
and record what people tell me
Everyone has a story
no matter how big or small
and here are some stories
that I'd like to share with you from
the humans in China

四年前 我来到中国
开启了在这里的旅行
我去了很多城市和村庄
遇到很多人
看到很多景
有一天突然有了一个想法
我要记录下这些平凡的人们
去听听他们的心声
虽然他们微不足道
但却反映了最真实的人生
于是便有了关于人在中国的故事

I was a teacher in Urumqi for 2 and a half years. My family moved to Xinjiang in 1996 to earn money and then ten years later in 2006 they returned to Gansu to live. They had to work hard to make money especially after I proposed to my wife as they had to give 60 thousand yuan to her parents. Now I’m married with one daughter and I’m looking to head to the south of China to find work that pays well but that means leaving my daughter here in Gansu and if I find something good then she may move to the south with me along with my wife. Wechat makes life much easier but I’ll still miss her an awful lot. Before I only cared that my dreams would come true but now I hope that I can make money and have a happy and healthy family.

我在新疆乌鲁木齐当了两年的老师。为了挣钱，我们全家1996年搬到了新疆，十年后也就是2006年又回到甘肃老家生活。我父母不得不努力工作赚钱，尤其是我向我妻子求婚以后，必须要给岳父母6万元的彩礼钱。现在我们结婚了，有个女儿。我打算去南方找个工资高点的工作，可那就意味着我要离开女儿，离开甘肃。但如果我在南方能找个好工作，也许就能把女儿和妻子接到身边。现在微信联系也很方便，但是我还是会特别想她。以前我只关心能否实现我的梦想，但现在我更希望我可以多挣点钱，我的家庭幸福，家人健康。
