画廊周北京官宣最新活动日期
在798艺术区、草场地艺术区等北京重要艺术发生地,来自中国及世界各地的画廊和非营利机构将在六月底齐聚一堂,共襄创新盛举。

基于疫情防控趋于稳定的最新态势,在与工作团队、合作伙伴和参展方进行广泛协商后,画廊周北京官宣新的举办日期为2022年6月24日至7月3日(6月23日为媒体预览日,6月24日至26日为贵宾日,6月28日至7月3日为公众日)。在经历数周的等待后,第六届画廊周北京将成为中国内地最先推出的大型文化活动之一。
为预热线下活动,画廊周北京将于6月12日(星期日)于抖音推出独家直播导览与云端派对。
国际新闻发布会将于6月22日(星期三)通过Zoom举行,更多信息敬请关注。

38家参展画廊和⾮营利机构40场重磅展览

项目亮点



画廊周北京2022 主单元 将继续关注本地画廊的多元面貌。艺·凯旋画廊将带来维尔纳·巴特纳的来华首展,呈现艺术家从上世纪90年代至今创作的近30幅精品画作。上一届“最佳展览奖”得主常青画廊将以托比亚斯·雷贝格的北京首次个展强势亮相。刘野夫携手魔金石空间,以影像、陶瓷和绘画的综合形式,凭借极具张力的视觉语言向被想象的内部与外部进行发问。当代唐人艺术中心的罗中立回顾展将对艺术家的创作进行迄今为止最全面的回溯与梳理。李津在站台中国当代艺术机构的首展“李津”,以最新的大尺幅黑白水墨作品预见其未来工作向度。梁远苇将与北京公社联袂同行,呈现艺术家同名的新作个展。


亚洲艺术中心将呈现陈淑霞源自对时间和疫情展开思考的两个系列作品。大千画廊推出的丘挺个展探讨水墨山水画背后的中国古典人文精神。首次参展的EGG画廊亦选择以水墨为语言的朱岚个展亮相。偏锋画廊三遠当代艺术将分别推出李继开与冯良鸿的绘画个展。新氧艺O2art展出的景观系列“曜曜”是彭斯继人物肖像创作之外,蛰伏四年新作的第一次亮相。张英楠选择“負片”为索卡艺术的个展线索,透过对超现实主空间的描绘,反映其面对当代环境的心境。墨方HdM画廊将各自聚焦康靖与杨茂源的雕塑实践;邱炯炯借星空间展览“椒麻神遊記”回归其导演身份外的绘画本真。侯子超于马刺画廊的个展“厄尔塔”将自然景观与数字化处理重叠。范尼·吉奎尔在户尔空间呈现的雕塑与动态情景,跨越了亲密与陌生、内在与外在、清醒生活与未来梦想之间的多孔边界。CLC画廊将呈现个展“赵大钧:蓝色上的红线”。空白空间携手刘诗园个展惊艳回归今年的画廊周北京。


本届画廊周北京主单元亦将呈现一系列精彩的双个展与群展,探寻艺术家之间的相互引力。由杨紫策划的麦勒画廊群展“贮藏(2022)”试图探讨心理视像下产生的空间以何种方式被呈现于二维平面之上。蜂巢当代艺术中心将推出龚辰宇与皆藤斋的双个展,后者更是本届唯一参展的日本艺术家。Tabula Rasa画廊以群展的方式集结八位国外女性艺术家的作品,呈现一场绘画的视觉盛宴。为庆贺成立20周年,東京画廊+BTAP特邀冯博一策划了本次题为“堆叠——東京画廊+BTAP(北京)成立20周年特展”。


除商业画廊外,各大非营利美术馆亦为本届画廊周北京主单元锦上添花。今年年初开馆的美凯龙艺术中心将呈现两位青年女行为艺术家的双个展:“我们都是母亲”是张怡在中国的首次机构个展;“从南到北”是童文敏新近开启项目的首次呈现。蔡冠深文化交流中心的开馆展“重生-邂逅自然”通过11位中国和欧洲艺术家的装置、摄影、绘画与影像作品,探讨环境修复与环保意识两个主题。为庆祝成立15周年,UCCA尤伦斯当代艺术中心推出一系列特别活动,以大型群展“共同的现场:UCCA 15周年理事收藏展”拉开序幕。木木美术馆一城双馆分别带来美国艺术家奥斯汀·李的首次美术馆个展和布鲁斯·瑙曼在国内的首次大规模机构个展。由Hyundai Blue Prize Art+Tech 2022的两位获奖者之一刑丹策展,现代汽车文化中心群展构想通过未来科技自主打造的后人类生活景观。北京中间美术馆将在798艺术区内呈现的特别展览是继2020年“巨浪与余音”大展后,对20世纪下半叶中国当代艺术史研究的新篇章。


2022年 艺访单元 以“城市”为线索,邀请具有鲜明特点的国内外画廊在798艺术区内呈现丰富多彩的展览,为北京艺术生态的创新和多元化发展注入全新活力。BANK/MABSOCIETY(上海)的双人展将捕捉靳山的雕塑与陈天灼的影像之间的精彩对话。马凌画廊(中国香港/上海)将推出周育正个展“沉积渐变”,聚焦艺术家过去两年创作的10幅绘画新作。柯芮斯画廊(伦敦)在画廊周北京的再度亮相将囊括派皮·博特罗普在中国的首次展览、崔洁新近雕塑作品和里克力·提拉瓦尼的灯光装置。首次参与的桑塔画廊(巴黎)将带来西班牙艺术家何塞·玛丽亚·西西里亚的中国首个展,回溯其过去二十余年的创作。Balice Hertling(巴黎)推出红妍的最新作品。阿尔敏·莱希(巴黎/布鲁塞尔/伦敦/纽约/上海)即将呈现 “藩篱、坠落与触摸:安德莉亚·玛丽·布雷林的十件新作”。泰勒画廊(伦敦/纽约)将展出丹尼尔·克鲁斯-丘博个展“鲜花与猛兽”。格莱斯顿画廊(纽约/布鲁塞尔/首尔)二度参与画廊周北京,并呼应年度主题“共享”,欣然推出里克力 · 提拉瓦尼与托马斯 · 拜勒的新作。



主单元特展:交叉的宣叙调




主单元特展“交叉的宣叙调”将呈现主单元参展画廊的20余位艺术家作品,囊括影像、装置、雕塑、绘画等在内的多种媒介,解读北京地区多元异质的艺术生态。画廊周北京联合北京中间美术馆UCCA尤伦斯当代艺术中心,邀请来自两家非营利机构的黄文珑张南昭张艺川邹嘉澍四位年轻策展人共同策划,将于6月24日至7月3日期间在798艺术中心一层呈现此特展。


自2017年成立以来,画廊周北京一直致力于构建可持续的艺术生态系统和社区,搭建画廊、非营利机构、艺术家、收藏家和公众的沟通交流平台。主单元特展标志着在画廊周北京活动之际,立足本土的非营利机构首次合作,共同呈现崭露头角的前沿当代艺术。




New Date Announcement:

The 6th edition of Gallery Weekend Beijing to open on June 24, 2022


Major galleries and world-class non-profit institutions from China and beyondwill gather in late June to celebrate the creative spirit of Beijing, from the 798 Art Zone to the Caochangdi Art District and other various sites across the city.


In line with the latest relaxations of local Covid-19 restrictions and after extensive consultation with the event’s staff, partners and participants, this year’s Gallery Weekend Beijing (GWBJ) will officially run from June 28 to July 3, with a Media Day on June 23 and VIP Previews from June 24 to 26. The 6th edition of GWBJ is slated to be one of the first major cultural event in Beijing to launch after weeks of local Covid-19 restrictions.


As a teaser of the physical event, GWBJ will livestream a series of virtual programs on June 12 (Sunday), including exhibition tours and a special online concert on TikTok China (Douyin). For more information, please follow our social media platform.


A virtual press conference will be held on June 22 (Wednesday) via Zoom. Further information will be announced in due course.

Program Highlights



The 2022  Main Sector  will feature a diverse range of galleries with spaces in Beijing. At Triumph Gallery, Analogies, Allegories and Metaphors of the Human Condition is the first exhibition of Werner Büttner's works in China with nearly 30 paintings created by the German painter from the 1990s to the present. Tobias Rehberger, who is currently the subject of a major survey show at Kunstmuseum Stuttgart, will have his first solo exhibition at Galleria Continua. Magician Space will present Fool's Paradise, a video and a series of ceramics and paintings by Liu Yefu that probes the imagined interior and exterior with a highly charged visual language. Recognised for his realist portraits of the people of southwestern China, Luo Zhongli will have a significant retrospective show at Tang Contemporary Art. Taking the title The old fellow is singing, Platform China Contemporary Art Institute’s exhibition of Li Jin, an unorthodox ink painter transforming the mundane daily scenarios into fragmented illusions of a fantastical world, will bring large-scale monochrome works that mark a shift in the artist’s style. Known for the replication of patterns of readymade textiles in her recent paintings, Liang Yuanwei will have a solo exhibition at Beijing Commune.
Asia Art Center will spotlight Chen Shuxia’s artistic practice in two chapters: her signature interpretation of concept of time through the edge of the canvas as well as the depiction of the helplessness and depression experienced during the pandemic; significant ink landscape paintings that embody the classical Chinese humanistic spirit can be viewed at My Heart is in the Hills——Qiu Ting Solo Exhibition in Daqian Gallery; Walking Line, Zhu Lan’s solo show at EGG Gallery; Feng Lianghong’s abstract paintings at N3 Contemporary Art; O2art’s exhibition titled Luminary, featuring a new series of plant-inspired paintings by Peng Si; Li Jikai, a prominent figure of China’s “ego generation”, will be featured at PIFO Gallery; Zhang Yingnan will take stage for the third time at SOKA ART, in an exhibition titled Negative, showcasing recent paintings that reflect Zhang’s mood towards the contemporary environment through the depiction of the surreal main space and the way of painting the landscape; Kang Jing’s Engraved on My Bone at Mocube; artist and filmmaker Qiu Jiongjiong at Star Gallery; and YANG MAOYUAN | DOUBLE LANDSCAPE at HdM Gallery. Alluded by the exhibition title, Child in the Woods, contemporary Chinese artist Hou Zichao invites the audiences to experience his imagination of borderless forest overlapped with images of a video game at SPURS Gallery. The fleeting sculptural and gestural situations that Fanny Gicquel will exhibit at now, and then in Hua International tread the porous boundary between the intimate and the impersonal, interiority and exteriority, waking life and the dreams to come. CLC Gallery Venture will present a solo exhibition " Zhao Dajun: Red Lines on the Blue". WHITE SPACE will return to 2022‘s event withLiu Shiyuan | Suspended Frames.

The 2022 Main Sector galleries also feature a selection of dual and group exhibitionsthat explore the relationship between artists across various disciplines: recipient of thefirst Sigg Fellowship for Chinese Art Research in 2020, Yang Zi will curate A Place for Concealment (2022) at Galerie Urs Meile, an exhibition that strives to explore the question of how psychologically perceived space is presented on the two-dimensional plane. Hive Center for Contemporary Art will host two solo exhibitions by Gong Chenyu and Kaito Itsuki, the latter of whom is the only Japanese artist presented at this year’s GWBJ. Demonstrating the strength of female artists, Tabula Rasa Gallery will host a group exhibition comprising Lydia Blakeley, Nell Brookfield, Clémentine Bruno, Kristy M Chan, Yulia Iosilzon, Alicia Reyes McNamara, Amy Steel and Sofia Stevi. To commemorate the 20thanniversary of the founding of TOKYO GALLERY + BTAP’s Beijing outpost, Feng Boyi will curate a show entitled Overlaid: Tokyo Gallery +BTAP (Beijing) 20th Anniversary Special Exhibition.


In addition to commercial art galleries, acclaimed non-profits also participate in this year’s Main Sector with the new Macalline Art Center presenting two solo exhibitions of female performance artists: Patty Chang who will have her first solo institutional show in China and Tong Wenmin who is debuting a new project at this exhibition. Having recently opened its doors to the public, non-profit cultural exchange centre CHOI CENTRE presents its inaugural exhibition ReBirth - Encountering Nature jointly with Jonathan KS Choi Foundation at Cloud House, exploring the environmental restoration and environmental awareness through installation, photography, painting and video works by 11 Chinese and European artists. Celebrating its 15th anniversary, UCCA Center for Contemporary Art has planned a series of special programs, kicking off with a large-scale group show Common Ground: UCCA 15th Anniversary Patrons Collection Exhibition on view until 3 July 2022. In collaboration with London’s Tate Modern and Amsterdam’s Stedelijk Museum, M WOODS is exhibiting China’s first and most comprehensive overview of work by American artist Bruce Nauman, titled Bruce Nauman: OK OK OK, on view until 11 July 2022. In tandem, the museum is also currently staging the largest show of contemporary American artist Austin Lee, Austin Lee: Human Nature, an accumulation of Lee’s formative years from 2019 to 2022. Curated by Diane Xing, one of the two winners of the Hyundai Blue Prize Art+Tech earlier this year, Hyundai Motorstudio Beijing features Balcony of the Brave — Nutrition, Materials, and Future Ecology, an exhibition that imagines a “balcony landscape” that can be independently forged by future technology. Beijing Inside-Out Art Museum is staging an exhibition that studies Chinese intellectuals and art circles at the turn of the 20th century by presenting notes, images, documents, archives and works of artists, curators and scholars.


Dedicated to galleries with spaces outside Beijing, the 2022  Visiting Sector  will see galleries with spaces in major global art hubs host exhibitions within the 798 Art Zone. BANK/MABSOCIETY (Shanghai)'s exhibition will capture the fascinating dialogue between Jin Shan's sculptures and Tianzhuo Chen's video works. Homegrown participants from the Greater China region include Kiang Malingue (Hong Kong, Shanghai), formerly known as Edouard Malingue Gallery, returns with Chou Yu-Cheng’s Sedimentary Gradient, a showcase of ten paintings created in the last two years. International galleries include Pilar Corrias (London) showcasing Here or there! with Peppi Bottrop, Cui Jie and Rirkrit Tiravanija; making its debut at GWBJ, Galerie Chantal Crousel (Paris) will spotlight early and recent œuvres by Spanish artist José María Sicilia; Hongyan’s latest works at Balice Hertling (Paris); a monographic presentation of Andrea Marie Breiling titled Fence, Fall, Touch: 10 new paintings by Andrea Marie Breiling at Almine Rech (Paris, Brussels, London, New York, Shanghai); a focus on British artist Daniel Crews-Chubb, who is renowned for his experimental collage paintings, at first-time participant Timothy Taylor (London, New York); and finally, Gladstone Gallery (New York, Brussels, Seoul) returning for a second year to GWBJ with a special presentation of new works by Rirkrit Tiravanija and Thomas Bayrle.



Main Sector Special Exhibition: Crosstalk




Enlisting the participation of more than 20 artists represented by Main Sector galleries, this special exhibition will showcase a strong mix of artworks, including video, installations, sculptures, and paintings, among other medium.  Crosstalk  is co-curated by four young curators from Beijing Inside-Out Art Museum and UCCA Center for Contemporary ArtWenlong Huang, Neil Zhang, Yichuan Zhang and Jiashu Zou – and will be on view from June 24 to  July 3 2022, on the first floor of 798 Art Center.
Since its inception in 2017, GWBJ has been committed to building a sustainable art ecosystem and a community by focussing on artistic practice and thinking in collaboration with galleries, art institutions, artists, collectors, and the public. The Main Sector Special Exhibition marks the first-time non-profit institutions based in Beijing are working together to stage exhibitions on the occasion of GWBJ, showcasing budding and cutting-edge contemporary art from the city and beyond.
