今年我在广州画廊的展览《呼伦贝尔没有草原》 ,因为题目自带了某些地域性的特点,让它看似是在内蒙古东部地区展开,但实际上每件作品都在固定的事件场域中发生,它们的起因在广州、在武汉、在内蒙古、在西藏、在澳大利亚、在伊朗高原…对于创作者来说需要时常回溯时间沉淀下来的某段历史,那些生活中不期而遇的历史。现实生活中所遭遇的过往都是“历史”,在这些遭遇中投射自己的感知,用眼前的材料转换、磨合与妥协,这个过程可能是在进行创作,也可能就是在浪费时间。而有趣也让我着迷的是最后称之为“作品”的“作品”。我也不知道“它”是什么。在展览里编辑一段描述也是做出一次有效的分享,分享一段已经发生的故事与你遭遇的“历史”。
在近两年这段不平静的时间里,我很喜欢阿来的小说《尘埃落定》。我想借用他(的)诗集《天堂门打开之前》 里的一段文字“老人说,看哪!落日像我即将失明的独眼”作为此次分享的题目,这段字也会让我想起《楢山节考》……

An exhibition called Nowhere but Everywhere (There is No Grassland in Hulun Buir) held in Canton Gallery this year. Since the title of exhibition contains some regional characteristics: it seems to be unfolded in the eastern part of Inner Mongolia, but in fact, each work takes place in a fixed event field. Their origins are in Guangzhou, Wuhan, Inner Mongolia, Tibet, Australia and the Iranian Plateau… For creators, the history that you always need to go back to a certain period of time, and the history that you encounter unexpectedly in life, both of them are "history". You project your own perception in these encounters, and use the materials in front of you to transform, run in and compromise; this process may be creative, or it may be just a waste of time. The funny thing is, the piece that fascinates me which ends up being called a piece, I don't know what it is. To edit a description in the exhibition is to make an effective sharing - to share a story that has happened or a "history" of your encounter. I really like the novel A Novel of Tibet written by Alai. During the turbulent period of the past two years, I would like to quote a passage from his poetry collection Before the Heaven Opens, "The old man said, Look! The sunset is like my soon-to-be-blind one eye". As the topic of this sharing, this passage also reminds me of Narayama Bushiko...

三角形稳定的雕塑台与树根的切面连接在一起,树根保持着生长时最后的方向,无序的像火一样,表面留有焦化的漆液,微微地泛光。注视着被烧焦的树根,大火中还隐藏着一只招手焦灼的小熊。The triangular stable sculpture platform is linked with the section of the tree root. The final direction of the tree root holder's growth is as follows, with coking paint left on the surface and slightly glowing. The little bear is still burning in the fire.

Yang Yang was born in Inner Mongolia, China, in 1993.
"My work originates from scrutinizing,counteracting.and transforming my experience with the society and everyday life, I value useless “labor in the process of making. I'm also interested in the relationships bet ween the nature and individuals. Using painting. video. and different craft materials among others, I try to settle and extend the reality I'm facing in my artistic creation.

The Foundation's own art collection will grow through a FCAF-funded research process.顶上(顶上空间)成立于2016年7月,源于韩飞和李振华的一次谈话,关于“做什么”和“什么也不做”。后来还是归结为一句话:顶上是一座位于城中村建筑屋顶的精神之屋。顶上的实体空间包含了开放式的厨房、天台、阅览室、小型放映厅、会议室等不同基础设施,通过到访者的参与,以各自兴趣为出发点展开与顶上的连结。由此,顶上将作为一个动态的概念,在交往和对话中,被不断定义与激发。TOP (TOP Art Space) was established in July 2016. The opportunity for the establishment of space originated from a conversation between Han Fei and Li Zhenhua, about "what to do" and "nothing to do". They finally concluded that TOP is a house of the spirit loactes on the roof of urban village. The physical space of TOP includes open kitchen, rooftop, reading room, small projection hall, conference room and other infrastructure. Through the participation of visitors, we start from their own interests to connect with TOP.
