WHAT TO DO IF I AM QUARANTINED? – TIPS
The month of March has been a good one for those residing in China as the numbers of cases of the COVID-19 are declining day by day. However, there is always a threat to the importation of the virus through a passenger traveling from or via a country that is highly affected by the epidemic.
Many passengers are asking about measures being taken at various airports throughout China with regards to putting them in quarantine. Beijing gave the policy of putting every passenger into 14 days quarantine irrespective of the nationality, whereas Guangzhou and Shanghai are classifying passengers into 3 categories based on which it is decided whether they will be put into quarantine or not. However since many countries worldwide and now affected with the pandemic, it is very likely that most of the passengers will be put into 14 days quarantine.

Here we provide you some tips on what should you do and how to come prepared to China if you are fearful of getting into quarantine.
1)Before buying the ticket make sure that the flights are going from your country to China. Call the airline’s office and confirm with them.
2)Check from the airport authorities from your departure city, if they require any other documents for immigration clearance or not. Some airports are asking for a Coronavirus certificate provided by a local hospital. Again it depends from country to country so we advise that you confirm it before booking the ticket and taking your flight.
3)Find out if someone from your country has recently traveled to China and ask them about their experience as that will give you the latest updates on the situation.
4)Try to arrange some masks from your country if possible so you do not have to worry about them when you reach China. You need to wear masks compulsory in public especially in the metros and taxis. Without masks, you cannot avail of these services.
5)Better come prepared financially as in most of the cases the cost of stay will be borne by the passenger therefore it is better to take that cost in consideration for your budget when you travel to China.
The fear of being stuck at home or a hotel for 2 weeks can sometimes be overwhelming. However, if you remain to relax and calm and plan your routine then this time shall pass easily and you will be out of the quarantine before you know it.
