If an extension of the time limit is needed, the original approval authority and procedures shall be followed to go through the formalities for the renewal of the freezing period before the expiration of the freezing period, and the maximum period for each renewal shall not exceed one year.
Upon expiration of the freezing period, the freezing shall be automatically discharged if the procedures for freezing renewal have not been completed.
冻结期限：第十八条冻结涉案存款、汇款等财产的期限不得超过六个月。有特殊原因需要延长的，作出原冻结决定的人民检察院、公安机关、国家安全机关应当在冻结期限届满前按照本规定第八条办理续冻手续。每次续冻期限不得超过六个月，续冻没有次数限制。对于重大、复杂案件，经设区的市一级以上人民检察院、公安机关、国家安全机关负责人批准，冻结涉案存款、汇款等财产的期限可以为一年。需要延长期限的，应当按照原批准权限和程序，在冻结期限届满前办理续冻手续，每次续冻期限最长不得超过一年。冻结期限届满，未办理续冻手续的，冻结自动解除。
