How To Apply For a Visa To Come Back To China?

In light of the current changes in the global COVID-19 pandemic situation and according to the latest domestic requirements, many Chinese Embassies have adjusted the requirements for foreigners applying for visas to China from now on. 

The adjusted visa application process is mainly as follows:
(different embassies may have some differences)

1. Applicants can fill in the electronic application form online through the China Online Visa Application system, and use the Appointment for Visa Application Submission system to make an appointment for a date and time to apply for the visa.

2. Applicants need to submit the application in person according to the appointment time, where ten fingerprints will be collected on the spot. 

3. Applicants for diplomatic, official and courtesy visas do not need to make an appointment. They only need to fill in and print out the application form online through the China Online Visa Application system, and submit the relevant application materials.

Material Requirements

Basic Application Materials:

1. Passport

2. Visa application form

3. Photo: Small 2-inch (48mm×33mm) recent, full-faced, color (light-colored background), bareheaded, passport photo, paste it on the application form.

4. Legal residence certificate

5.Original Chinese passport

6. Original Chinese visa

7. Proof of change of name

8. COVID-19 vaccination certificate

9. Other materials deemed necessary by the Embassy.

1.Currently, applications for travel and other visas to China are not accepted.

2.Applicants must still apply for a Health Declaration Certificate from the Embassy as required before going to China. Please take strict precautions against the COVID-19 pandemic during visa application and traveling.
