Why Business License so important?
Business License is a business entity’s certificateof identity issued by local AIC (Administration of Industrial and Commerce) ,just like certificate of incorporation in some jurisdiction. Business License provide basic information of an entity,which are:
Name—perhaps the company has an Englishname on it’s website, but it’s official name is Chinese;
Address—if the company move to a differentplace, it is supposed to update it’s address;
name of the legal representative--theindividual who operate business on behalf of the entity; so if someone tell youthat he is the boss, it’s easy to check it out;
registered capital—the amount of fund theshareholders planned to contribute;
type of the entity—if this entity islimited liability, or Wholly foreign owned entity or Joint venture;
business scope—according to the law, theentity is only allowed to do business stated in business scopte;
date of incorporation and operate term ofthe entity.
One issue with business license is it’sonly in Chinese, so it’s important to have your Chinese friend to check it orhave a local lawyer to check is there anything goes wrong.
