五月 MAY - BALBOA REVAMP
Students of all Intermediate levels who completed Balboa Basics course in the past are welcome to join the new "Balboa Revamp" classes! Everyone will learn something useful and find some helpful tips to improve their dancing. During these classes we will use the moves previously taught in level 3-4 classes and recent workshops, re-visit and re-learn them, improving technique and adding styling and variations. This might be challenging for level 2 students, but you are welcome to try and learn a lot of new moves along the way!

每节课我们将关注一个动作，仔细观察每一个动作的技术细节，一步一步地提高它们的外观。在学习过程中，一旦你们动作有了进步，我们会继续用一些小变化使之增色，然后做最终的打磨——那就是加入风格！哦，对了！为了让你们在舞会中更光彩夺目，我们还会告诉你一些能和音乐很好结合在一起的小秘密。让我们一起精心装扮我们的Balboa吧！大家一起来让Balboa感觉更棒吧！
Have you ever noticed that the moves or variations you've learned, even that you know them, don't come up in your social dancing? There is just no time to get them out of the "storage" of your brain, without the quick access of muscle memory. The goal of "Revamp" classes is to help you add moves you've learned to your dance vocabulary and make it flow easily and shine on social dance floor. How are we going to do that?
Each class will focus on one move at a time. We will look into the technique that's used, step-by-step improving each aspect of it. Once the move all brushed up and feels right, we will adorn it with variations first, and then work of final polish - the styling! In addition, we will make it work better with music by giving you some musicality tips. Let's Revamp our Balboa! Let's make it look and feel great!

Leru and Josh are the most experienced Balboa teachers in Beijing, and known for their attention to details. The teachers are bilingual, so you don't have to worry about being lost in translation!

Amanda has been helping to teach Balboa for all levels for more than one year now. She is undoubtedly one of the best Balboa followers in Beijing, but in addition to that is great at explaining the material in both English and Chinese.

In June we are very fortunate to have an International scale dancer visiting Beijing long enough to give a series of lessons! Mike Grosser from USA will be teaching 4 Intermediate Pure-Balboa classes on Wednesdays (June 4-25). It's a progressive course, but you can also drop in just for one class, to catch any chance to learn from this well-known blues and swing dancer.

This is a rare opportunity to have a very experienced leader with strong close embrace technique to teach in Beijing. Mike is known for exceptional skills in blues dancing, which he uses in his Pure-Balboa as well. During this course Mike and Leru will teach more ways to lead and follow from the body core, without unecessary tention in your arms, explore new footworks and rhythms.

Mike Grosser (USA)
Mike Grosser是全球布鲁斯舞蹈界最知名的人物之一。他是一位顶级教师、舞蹈家、编舞者、表演者和导师。
Mike Grosser is one of the most recognized names in the global Blues dance community. He is a top level instructor, dancer, choreographer, performer, and mentor.
Mike从2004年左右开始跳舞，至今已在19个国家教课。目前，他教授Lindy Hop、vernacular Solo Jazz、Balboa以及30多个布鲁斯风格的舞蹈。Mike不仅参与并赢得了多种类型的重要比赛，而且在非正式的深夜舞蹈比赛中表现出色。舞蹈于Mike，是生活的一部分。Mike不断打磨自己的舞蹈技巧，将新想法运用于舞蹈。
Mike started dancing around 2004, and since has taught in 19 countries and counting. He currently teaches Lindy Hop, vernacular solo jazz, Balboa, and well over 30 Blues idioms. Mike has not only placed in and won respected competitions across multiple genres but also thrown down hard in unofficial late night dance-offs. Mike lives and breathes dance. He is constantly honing his skills and developing new ideas.
Mike combines his knowledge of music, functional anatomy, physics, and a plethora of dance forms to create classes that are uniquely insightful, inspiring, energetic, and challenging. As an instructor, Mike strives to put himself in his students’ shoes so that he can convey material as intuitively and thoroughly as possible. Students across continents rave about Mike’s insights, personality, and breadth and depth of knowledge.
