Mt. Siguniang Scenic Area is an unspoiled wilderness park located in western Sichuan, near the town of Rilong in Aba Autonomous Prefecture. It's 220 kilometers (about 136 miles) from Chengdu, and will take you about 4 hours to reach by road. The scenic area includes Mt. Siguniang, and three valleys: Shuangqiao Valley, Changping Valley, and Haizi Valley. Shuangqiao Valley is an unspoiled natural beauty. The unusual sceneries are rarely seen anywhere else in the world: blue sky, clouds and mist, snow peaks, ancient cypress forests, rushing waterfalls (where we do ice climbing in winter), and alpine meadows make this area a nature lovers dream.

We will choose where to do the climb depending on group members' condition. Normally speaking, we choose Baiyan Valley, Mutizi, Dashibao or Nianyuba. Please respect tour leader's decision. |
Detailed Itinerary
DAY 1
We will depart from Chengdu Tianyu Road metro station exit D2 at 09:00 am or 10:00 am. The exact time and place will be informed about 1 day in advance to you.
After arrival, our coach will introduce various ice climbing equipment like rope, crampons, climbing boots, knots, protectors, carabiner, and quickdraw and so on.
Dinner will be served at about 6:00 pm. Enjoy the nice meal and prepare for tomorrow's ice climbing.
DAY 2
Have breakfast and then start our ice cllimbing day! The main aim of the first day morning is to teach personal ice climbing technique (walk on ice, how to use ice tool and crampons) to ensure that you are efficient and comfortable on the ice.
Do the real ice climbing in the afternoon by the guidance of our coach. It is also important to be able to cope with the cold winter environment so we spend time on how to stay comfortable whilst on the climb.
Having dinner with group members and share the experience with each other for today's ice climbing activity.
DAY 3
Have breakfast in the morning. By now most of the technical/safety aspects of ice climbing will be learned so we can try to climb a slightly steeper icefall depending on group's condition. You can enjoy more ice climbing with coaching.
We will depart back to Chengdu at around 2:00pm. The drive will take about 4 hours based on the road condition. You are suggested to book next day flight just in case the traffic on the road.

Please do not drink on highland
No smoking in the forest
Please fully respect the decision made by group coach. He will arrange the trip based on current weather, group member condition, route, timing, safety, etc.
Do not leave our group otherwise we will not be responsible for you
Due to the big temperature difference and strong radioation, please bring warm clothes and suncream
Please bring your own luggages like clothes, bottle, lunches, snacks, etc.
No littering around and leave no trace. Bring the trash back to guesthouse if any
