cooperation, trade and people-to-people exchanges between the two countries, and
the problems in life and work encountered by overseas Chinese in Iceland. He

matters.Ambassador He highlighted China's principles and
positions on the Taiwan question and the white paper entitled "The Taiwan Question
and China's Reunification in the New Era". He pointed out that the white
paper is being released to reiterate the fact and status quo that Taiwan is
part of China, to demonstrate the resolve of the Communist Party of China (CPC)and
the Chinese people and their commitment to national reunification, and to
emphasize the position and policies of the CPC and the Chinese government in
the new era. The release of the white paper signifies that cross-strait
relations have entered a new stage, charting the course for advancing the
process of China’s reunification in the future.
The representatives sincerely thanked China and the
Embassy for their thoughtful and strong support to overseas Chinese in Iceland
since the outbreak of Covid pandemic, and expressed that realizing the complete
reunification of the motherland is the common aspiration of all descendants of Chinese
origin both at home and abroad. They firmly believed that the Chinese
government and the Chinese people are fully equipped with the great capability
to defend sovereignty and dignity of the nation, and that the motherland will
surely accomplish the great cause of reunification at an earlier date.
