The
high speed train railway length between Fuzhou and Xiamen is 277
kilometers, and the railway connects three bays: Meizhou Bay, Quanzhou Bay,
And Anhai Bay. To support this, 7 stations are being built: Fuzhou South, Fuqing
West, Putian, Quangang, Quanzhou South, Xiamen North, and Zhangzhou
The
Meizhou Bay Bridge is located 14.7 km from Putian City, Fujian
Province. The main bridge constructed of the Prestressed Concrete
Continuous Rigid Structure, and the tower above the bridge is 30 meters
high, with a total of 28 kerisses. It is an innovative design in railway
industry.
The
railway construction workers have overcome difficulties like heavy rain,
typhoons and other harsh weather to construct the railway over the sea.
The
Fuzhou-Xiamen High Speed Railway is an important part of the country's
"eight-vertical and eight-horizontal" high-speed railway network. The
construction is expected to finish in 2022.
When the railway is
ready, the travel time of between Fuzhou and Xiamen will be shortened to
1 hour, which can effectively solve the "bottleneck"
problem of the railway in the southeast coast of China, and promote
Fujian to integrate into the national high-speed railway network.
