Additional Strict Regulation for Teachers Nationwide Coming Soon

The Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China (MOE) announced on July 28 that, a series of strict rectification work will take place in the next 9 months nationwide, to correct the behaviors of primary and secondary school teachers organizing paid supplementary after- school classes and receiving gifts or money from parents of students.

It aims to further standardize the professional behavior of the teachers, create a pure education environment, and promote the healthy and comprehensive development of primary and secondary school students.

The Ministry of Education adopts a “zero tolerance” attitude towards behaviors of teachers “teaching after school to make money and neglecting the duty during school classes”, “organizing off-school education centers”, or “getting profits from parents of students” and other improper behaviors. 

During the special rectification period, the education administrative departments of various regions will cooperate closely with relevant departments, to further increase the enforcement and punishment of related violations.

For the typical behaviors that have made bad impacts, MOE will make the information public through the National Teacher Management Information platform. To warn other teachers who may make same mistakes and guide all teachers to discipline and behave with good sense of responsibility.
