在东方文化语境里，与我们一衣带水的日本一直是不容小觑的存在，他们的文化内涵及设计美学尤为世界所推崇。本次课程主题「予见东方-日本」，「予见」意为「我见」，以「大师领进门」的方法，试图让你「看见」日本设计美学里的核心要旨。
In the context of Eastern culture, Japan, which is only a mere strip of water with us, has always been an existence that cannot be underestimated, and their cultural connotations and design aesthetics are especially admired by the world. The theme of this course is "Present to the East-Japan". "Present to see" means "I see". Using the method of "Master Leads the Door", it tries to let you "see" the core essence of Japanese design aesthetics.
我们特别邀请日本顶级设计大师：日式自然极简大师芦沢啓治、知名日本事务所Curiosity的创始人Gwenael Nicolas、日本町屋旧改大师魚谷繁礼以及日式氛围营造大师手嶋保。他们都将围绕日本文化内涵及设计美学展开，讲述他们的设计方法论，将最核心的设计实践经验呈现给大家，希望诸位学有所获。
We specially invite top Japanese design masters: Japanese natural minimalist master Keiji Ashazawa, founder of well-known Japanese firm Curiosity Gwenael Nicolas, Japanese Machiya master reformer Yutani Shigerei, and Japanese atmosphere creator Teshimayasu. They will all focus on Japanese cultural connotation and design aesthetics, talk about their design methodology, and present the core design practical experience to everyone. I hope you can learn something.
Keiji Ashizawa是一位来自日本的室内设计师，生于1973年。他于2005年成立了自己的同名设计工作室Keiji Ashizawa Design。1996年从横滨国立大学建筑与建筑科学系毕业后，Keiji在建筑工作室开始了他的职业生涯，并通过定制家具，以此来提高他的工艺哲学和技能。
Keiji Ashizawa is an interior designer from Japan, born in 1973. He founded his own design studio Keiji Ashizawa Design in 2005. After graduating from the Department of Architecture and Building Science of Yokohama National University in 1996, Keiji started his career in an architecture studio and improved his craft philosophy and skills through custom furniture.

Simple, refined, and thoughtful, Ashizawa Keiji's architecture and product design always return to his honest design philosophy. Deeply influenced by the principles of modernism in the 20th century, Ashizawa Keiji is known for its avant-garde architecture and product design. In true Tokyo fashion, his harmonious design sense blends modernity and tradition, and at the same time incorporates an inherent love for natural materials.
Curiosity是由法国著名设计师Gwenael Nicolas创立的东京多学科工作室。工作室不断重新定义设计的边界，从室内设计到建筑和产品设计。不是抽象的方式，而是通过与大量公司和客户合作，创造新产品，开发新材料和定义新的设计标识，通过他的独特和前卫的室内设计，为路易威登，芬迪，伊夫圣罗兰和Shu Uemura等创造了新鲜的购物体验。
Curiosity is a Tokyo multidisciplinary studio founded by the famous French designer Gwenael Nicolas. The studio constantly redefines the boundaries of design, from interior design to architecture and product design. Not in an abstract way, but through cooperating with a large number of companies and customers to create new products, develop new materials and define new design logos, through his unique and avant-garde interior design, for Louis Vuitton, Fendi, Yves Saint Roland and Shu Uemura have created a fresh shopping experience.
当Gwenael Nicolas开始做设计时，痴迷于制作和建造一个空间，但他认为这样反而错失了设计的主题和意义。受日本设计的影响，Gwenael Nicolas开始考虑当人进入空间或使用产品时的那一刻的感觉，以及想要表达的情感和体会。
When Gwenael Nicolas started designing, he was obsessed with making and constructing a space, but he thought that he missed the theme and meaning of the design. Influenced by Japanese design, Gwenael Nicolas began to consider the feeling of the moment when people enter the space or use the product, as well as the emotions and experiences they want to express.

魚谷繁礼（Shigenori Uoya）是一位来自日本京都的建筑师，1977年出生于日本兵库县。2001年毕业于京都大学的工学部，两年后获得该大学工学部的硕士研究生学位，目前担任京都大学的兼职讲师和京都工业大学的特聘教授。
Shigenori Uoya is an architect from Kyoto, Japan. He was born in Hyogo Prefecture, Japan in 1977. Graduated from the Faculty of Engineering of Kyoto University in 2001, and obtained a master's degree from the Faculty of Engineering of the University two years later. He is currently a part-time lecturer at Kyoto University and a distinguished professor at Kyoto Institute of Technology.

植根于日本当地的传统建筑，建筑师魚谷繁礼更擅长旧房的改造，像町屋改造成及旅馆，亦或是旧宅改造成带有中庭花园的联排别墅。随着町屋在日本的城市中逐渐消失，大多开发商都不选择重建，然而建筑师这样做旨在以新代旧，来致敬日本传统的建筑及室内设计。
Rooted in traditional Japanese architecture, the architect Yuya Shigerei is better at transforming old houses, such as the transformation of machiya into a hotel, or the transformation of old houses into townhouses with atrium gardens. With the gradual disappearance of machiya in Japanese cities, most developers do not choose to rebuild. However, the architects did this to pay tribute to traditional Japanese architecture and interior design with the new and the old.
T.Teshima Architects是一家位于日本东京的室内设计工作室，由创始人Tamotsu Teshima（手嶋 保）成立于1998年。Tamotsu Teshima1963年出生于福冈县，1986年毕业于东和大学建设工程系。在1990~1997年期间，在吉村順三设计事务所任职。
T.Teshima Architects is an interior design studio located in Tokyo, Japan, founded in 1998 by founder Tamotsu Teshima (手嶋保). Tamotsu Teshima was born in Fukuoka Prefecture in 1963 and graduated from the Department of Construction Engineering at Towa University in 1986. From 1990 to 1997, worked at Yoshimura Junzo Design Office.
