Silvio Cattani, vice president of MART Rovereto, certainly needs no introduction: a multifaceted artist, of national and international fame, he is the founder of the Fortunato Depero Art Institute.
His artistic production is characterized by a marked propensity for experimentation, the techniques he uses and the materials used range from ceramics to glass, from drawing to mosaic, to painting on cardboard, on canvas, on metal panels.
When you think generically of abstract art, images that do not belong to our visual experience come to mind, abstract works are free compositions in which shapes, colors, lines do not imitate reality. Silvio Cattani's abstractionism gives life to new forms of gaze, he uses pictorial language alongside the poetic language of titles, in creating works with a strong aesthetic impact and great communicative power; the same words, inserted in the compositions, have no didactic purpose.
His cultured art is difficult to label, it could be defined simply as "abstract", even if the chromatic signs, revealing a world of infinite possibilities, can sometimes refer to vaguely recognizable objects.
