A friend of yours plans to attend university first and then look for a job. Yet do you think university would provide more than the preparation for future work?

I think besides the preparation for future career, students could get much more from the university. For example, students usually have a tight schedule with their assignments, relationships, and part-time jobs, they’d learn how to handle them all instead of being consumed by the tasks. Besides, we often become more mature during that time because we’d learn to cope with frustration as many may encounter failed exams or internship applications; we’d learn to comfort others since parents may constantly worrying about our life away from home; and sometimes we have to make a choice between blending into a group or staying alone so that we could focus on the things truly matters to us. Such experiences prepare students for life in the following decades.

A friend of yours send you a gift you don’t need. Do you think it’s OK to send it to someone else?

答案示例

I think it’s OK to send such a gift to others. Once it’s been given to me, it belongs to me and therefore, I have the right to do whatever with it. Considering that I don’t want the gift, I may as well send it to someone else, otherwise it’d just be a waste. Once I got a 1.8-meter tall Teddy Bear, which seemed a little bit scary for me, yet I didn’t have the heart to send it back, so it was either throwing it out or giving it to someone who has a thing for that. Moreover, it’s true that this behavior may hurt others feelings; however, I’d try my best to keep it as a secret and plus, I do cherish the fact that my friends have prepared gifts for me. As for the presents themselves, I don’t think they’re as important as the thoughts behind.
