Some people think that historical sites should be open to the public while others think they should only be open to experts and researchers. Which view do you support and why?

From my perspective, historical sites should be open to the general public. Although we could find relevant information from books or videos, by visiting those sites, we'd get first-hand knowledge about ancient artifacts like potteries and accessories, which are far more appealing than printed pictures. What's more, it's true that historical sites should be preserved well so as to be studied by experts, and the public may cause some damage to them either with or without intention. However, we don't need to give people access to everything, I mean, those really delicate or previous artifacts could be kept from the public and for the rest, I think proper rules and regulations are enough to protect them.
PS:这道题,选择“only be open to experts and researchers”也不难,思路可以是:
1)大众可能会损坏文物、且很多损害是难以修复的,一来很可惜、二来给日后的研究带来很多困难
2)很多历史古迹、文物,就算对大众开放也不一定有很大意义——比如很多人看不太懂。与其跑去看、不如看相关的书或者纪录片,除了清晰的图片、还附有背景知识的讲解等等,更有意思也更有教育意义,同样可以使人们了解相关的历史文化。
