20191026 独立口语考题

Some people think that risk-taking activities such as rock-climbing and skydiving requires lots of bravery, while others think this is not brave but simply foolish. Which view do you agree with and explain your reasons.

答案示例

I think it takes guts to try risk-taking activities since people who are crazy about extreme sports like pushing themselves, which requires courage. I went to Queenstown several months ago and did skydiving and bungee, not because I wanted to show off how tough I was, which is just foolish, but because I was curious about what it felt like to stand on the edge and looked down. I did feel weak in my knees, yet at the same time, I was seized by the desire to jump, feeling I would be able to achieve anything if I've got the courage to do it. Actually, skydiving isn't half as scary as it sounds. It feels wonderful, but we'd never know if we're too afraid to try. Even if I'm overwhelmed by fear and quit, it's OK since it means that there're still something that make me scared. It's fine.
