Do you agree or disagree with the following statement?

People of ordinary background could be the best government leaders.

答案示例

Well, I don’t think people of ordinary background are the best candidate for government leaders; instead, one’s background counts a lot, I mean, the kind of education one receives, the people one communicates with and the things they talk about, such things are determined by the financial condition and social connections of one’s family and have subtle yet profound influence on future development. People born loaded do get a better shot at excellent resources, which pave the way for them in the political field. Besides, although people coming from the general public may know what the public genuinely wants, there’s a wide gap between knowing what to do and getting things done. Government leaders needs lots of maneuvers and negotiations to get their ideas through, yet people with ordinary background may have a hard time getting support from various parties.

PS：这道题有点儿难。看到题目，很多同学的第一想法是Agree，主要的理由是“来自于群众的人更了解民情，知道大众真正需要的是什么，所以能更好地为人民服务。” —— 这个想法挺好的，阐述的部分、举例子就好；同时，也可以与“背景厉害”的人进行对比，谈一下相比之下后者可能有哪些劣势。另一个想法是，直接列举一些出身草根的领袖的例子。

我的第一反应是Disagree，原因很多，比如我觉得“背景”很重要，决定了接受哪种教育、发展怎样的眼界、日常能接触到什么人、什么资源等等（但是阐述的时候表达注意一下，别小不在意讲出歧视的感觉......）；政治环境很复杂，一个想法即使很好、但最终能不能被通过、被施行也不是leader一个人说了算、需要得到多方的支持——而获得这些支持的过程往往很艰难、一个没什么背景的人很难做到。
