1. Make sure to verify when classes start, how to register and join the WeChat groups before the semester starts.

请务必在开学前确认开课时间、注册方式和微信群加入方式。

2. Check out how many elective courses you need to take and it is better to finish your electives in the first 2 years. Later on, classes will be much harder and you will regret choosing electives in junior or senior year. (Ms.Ella will introduce the Courses and Credits at Greet&Meet meetings.)

需确认要修多少门选修课，最好在前2年内完成你的选修课。以后的课程会更难，你会后悔在大三或大四才选择选修课。（Ella老师会在新生见面会上和大家介绍课程和学分。）

3. There are so many scholarship opportunities inside the school and the main theme is always grades and extracurricular activities. Joining the students union is recommended.

校内奖学金的机会非常多，主要是看成绩和课外活动。建议加入 IBS Union留学生会。

4. Make sure to stay active in classes. Just because others aren’t asking anything doesn’t mean you shouldn’t. Professors tend to be generous towards active students even if you do bad on exams.

保持在课堂上活跃，不要因为别人不提问你也就不提问了。教授老师们对于平时表现积极的学生会留有印象，即使考试不理想，也不会太苛责。

5. Language is a big part of our international community. English and Chinese are spoken by everyone, other languages are plus if you know them.

语言对留学生是重要的一部分，大家能说英语和汉语，如果你会其他语言则更能“加分”。

6. I hope you guys will get to go to Beijing and live on campus. Life inside the campus is a big part of college experience.

希望你们能去北京在校园学习和生活。校园生活是大学经历中不可或缺的一部分。

1. Setting your goals and strategies, try to set the priority on which subjects are really important for your grades, and other subjects that are not really much, and manage your time to focus on those subjects rather than giving your full time to all the subjects.

设定学习目标和策略，尝试划分科目主次，并有效管理你的时间，专注于那些重要课程，而不是把全部时间笼统地花在所有科目上 。

2. During the lecture, try to have much concentrate. Take some important short notes every time, especially the ones that Professor always mentions.

上课时尽量集中注意力。每次都做一些重要的小笔记，尤其是教授经常提到的那些内容。

3. Do every work and try to submit all of them on time. Although the scores of the assignment in some subjects didn’t give many points on them, it is still important, since at least if you cannot do well in your exam, it can help to increase your scores even just a little.

做好并尽量按时提交每一份作业。虽然有些课程的作业分数并没多少，但它仍然是很重要的，因为如果你在考试中表现不佳，至少这些可以帮助你再提高一点分数。

Take notes for classes like maths and microeconomics. Listen in class and study well for exams. For classes with “Teachermate” attendance, you can have your phone ready or unmute your notifications so you do not miss them. Try not to miss any classes as attendance is important for scholarship/overall grades. Follow or read the IBS union/study on BFSU social media platforms like the official WeChat account or Instagram so you don’t miss out on any announcements.

对于像是数学和微观经济学等课程，都要做笔记。上课认真听课，好好学习备考。对于有使用“微助教”点名的课程，您可以准备好手机或取消静音通知，这样您就不会错过任何消息。尽量不要错过任何课程，因为出勤对于奖学金/总成绩很重要。关注我们的IBSUnion的官方微信公众号和Instagram账号，以免错过任何公告信息。

Enjoy every class, make new friends and keep your mind open there are many different cultures around you. Try to stay focused on what you are looking for!

Whilst all people assume that university life is just limited to studying, my advice to you is not to forget to enhance your social and soft skills. This is very important for your future path when it comes to entering the employability world. To do so, enroll yourself in student unions, and organisations and always participate in any opportunities that university life has to offer for you. The amount of external experiences you have outside of your studies, the easier it will be for you to answer interview questions and establish an identity for yourself.

虽然所有人都认为大学生活仅限于学习，但我对你的建议是不要忘记提高你的社交技能和软技能。在步入社会就业时，这对你未来的道路非常重要。所以，请加入IBSUnion留学生会、学生社团，并积极参与和抓住大学提供的任何活动和机会！你在学习之外收获的经历越多，你在将来就业面试时也就更加能从容应对，为自己建立和打造一个身份和形象。

•Follow IBS Union WeChat official account in order to not miss important notices.
•Make sure to see the time [BJ time] and course schedule carefully.
•Attend events and contests to gain experiences and make new friends.
•Make sure that Microsoft Office is available before the sem starts.
•Load VPN beforehand if VooV is not available in your country for convenience.
•There will be a lot of group assignments so make sure to set up google docs, google slides etc.
•Dont hesitate to ask your Supervisor (Mr.Lemon) or senior if you have any questions.
•Often check your BB system.

1.关注IBS Union微信公众号，不要错过任何重要通知。

2.要认真看你的课程表和时间，是北京时间。

3.积极参与活动和比赛，积累经验，结交新朋友。

4.确保你的Microsoft软件在开学前可以使用。

5.如果你国家不方便使用VOOV视频，提前下载一个VPN。

6.会有很多小组作业，提前设置好谷歌文档，谷歌幻灯片。

7.遇到问题，可以问你的Supervisor（Mr.Lemon ）或者学长学姐。

8.经常检查你的BB学习系统。

Be careful with “International Trade” and “Management”, the exams are pretty difficult, just as classes.

要多注意“国际贸易”和“管理学”这两门课，考试和课程有点难度。

Be prepared for exams (Cross Cultural Management). The exams are oral, so you should be prepared to talk about the topic. It is good to share exam questions with your classmates and prepare them in advance with your group (i.e. I do questions from 1 to 15, Tom does 16-30 etc). The prof shares them about two weeks before the exam.
Take Javier's electives, he is pretty cool and nice. His course work is very interesting. Good luck with your studies！

准备考试（跨文化管理）。考试通常是口语，所以要准备好谈论相关“话题”。最好是与你的同学一起提前备考考试问题（比如我准备 1 到 15 的问题，Tom 做 16-30 等）。教授在考试前大约两周内发布考试问题。

1. Do not skip classes! As this will impact your chances to receive scholarships.

2. For math classes make sure to always take notes on everything and don’t miss any of them, it will be very helpful when reviewing/studying.

对于数学课，在上课时要随时记笔记，不要漏掉任何细节，这对你之后的复习会有很大的帮助。

3. Take notes on all your class VooV meeting ID so you don’t need to scroll around the group chats and to avoid lateness to class and miss any information.

记下你所有线上课程VOOV的会议ID，这样你不需要去翻看群聊记录，也可以避免上课迟到和错过重要信息。

4. Make sure to be active during university activities as it will impact your scholarship too!

对大学和学院的活动要积极参与，这些也会影响你的奖学金申请。

Watch out for Ethan's math class, or else he will see you next semester :)

要当心Ethan老师的数学课，好好学，不然下个学期可能要补考或重修！

Supervisor's Tips:

Prepare a notebook.  Write down the login IDs and passwords of all BFSU-related apps in your notebook. These Apps include your BFSU Email password, BB system, Digital Beiwai, Study in China (Online Registration), and WeChat password, etc. So that you will not forget.

Maintain a good attdendance,try your best to pass every course.

Be careful with math! Math！Math！ You can ask teachers and seniors for advice, or you can collect more online learning materials.

准备一个笔记本。把所有和BFSU有关的APP的登录ID和密码都记录在这个本子上，比如北外邮箱的密码，BB学习系统，Study in China(线上注册软件），数字北外，以及你的微信登录密码等，这样就不会忘记了。

保持良好的出勤，尽力通过每门课。

数学！（数学是一道坎）有不会的问题，可以向老师和学长请教，也可以自行搜集更多网上的学习资源。
